ramadaone Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Ben Mee is our best defender end of - he isn't the best player we have but he isn't paid to ponce about about and dribble round players he is there to stop their players scoring -

I'd like to see them play alongside each other on Friday if Bamba is injured though.
Webbo Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 I wonder if Sven wants to sign him in the summer and doesn't want to play him too much to keep the price down.Just a theory
FrankieADZ Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Mee has alot of potential in my view.....i kinda hope we sign him up in the summer...but I doubt it.
MattyFromLE Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 I wonder if Sven wants to sign him in the summer and doesn't want to play him too much to keep the price down.Just a theory Not a chance. It gets cheaper to have Bruma here the more he plays.
MikeyT Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Vitor > Mee. I'd like to see them play alongside each other on Friday if Bamba is injured though. I agree. Vitor and Mee, for certain. Although Van Aahnolt sounded particularly awful today, being out of position most of the time by the sound of it. So would Mee be a better option at LB.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Rather have Berner at LB and Mee or Vitor with Bamba in the middle. But either way it will always be Bruma and PVA despite how shite they play. Its crazy, Sven seems to have some sort of blinkers on, no matter what they do they will always play. When asked about Vitor previously he gave some cock and bull answer about Bruma being better than Vitor. Ridiculous.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Vitor is our best defender by miles. Sven's seeming reluctance to play him baffles me.

Although Van Aahnolt sounded particularly awful today, being out of position most of the time by the sound of it. So would Mee be a better option at LB. Berner at LB, Mee at LCB, Vitor RCB, Naughton RB would be my defence for the remainder of the season.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 I agree. PS: I thought that I had done something wrong when I entered this.
Webbo Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Bruma is a quality player, no doubt about it. Maybe there is a problem with having to play Bamba on the left, I'm not sure. If we get Bruma on a season long loan next season I won't complain. Sometimes you just have to accept that the other team were better than us on the day and stop looking for scapegoats.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Berner at LB, Mee at LCB, Vitor RCB, Naughton RB would be my defence for the remainder of the season. That would be everyones team I think though as Bamba is our player he might as well start to help gel the defence for next season. Though Sven wont chnage it, we all know that.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Mee (LB) - Vitor (CB) - Bamba (CB) - Naughton (RB)
Haydos Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Berner at LB, Mee at LCB, Vitor RCB, Naughton RB would be my defence for the remainder of the season. This.
Guest Bilo Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 The back four needs to look like this on Friday. Van Aanholt - Mee - Vitor - Naughton Whatever the reasons, Mee just looks better suited to our team and has impressed since he first got here. That tackle on Taarabt at Loftus Road was the kind of tackle I remember Stuart Pearce putting in in an England shirt, perfectly timed and scared the bloke shitless for the rest of the game. That was against a confident striker, try to imagine how Forest's clearly struggling strikeforce would take to it. The lad impresses me. He needs to return.
Bert Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Ben Mee is our best defender end of - he isn't the best player we have but he isn't paid to ponce about about and dribble round players he is there to stop their players scoring - No he's not, Miguel Vitor is.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 No he's not, Miguel Vitor is. Either way, I think we all agree that on form, at leastone of them should be playing ahead of Bamba or Bruma.
Father Ted Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 How many times does Sven want to make this mistake and throw away any remote chance of getting into the play offs?! No contest about it but Mee and Vitor are ten times the player Bruma is and ever will be. I don't get all of this Bruma will be good rubbish - he has a bad attitude, poor positioning, gets skinned far too easily, is one of the worst readers of the game I have ever seen and is a complete and utter joke. Since Cardiff away, when Bamba got dominated by Bothroyd, game by game that list has grown, to Marlon King, then Grant Holt and so on and this is worrying. He needs replacing to. If only Sven had some bollocks and didn't want to bum Bruma then we could have won today and been back into the play-off race but how many times have we said this! I have actually considered boycotting if Bruma starts again in place of Mee or Vitor because this is beyond a complete fcuking joke. McGivern > Josh Low > Bruma Thanks Sven for your incompetence, much appreciated.
Bettsj2 Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Berner at LB, Mee at LCB, Vitor RCB, Naughton RB would be my defence for the remainder of the season. Not a tall enough back line. Move Mee to LB, Vitor to LCB and Bamba at RCB
Bert Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Mee posted on his twitter, "wow, didn't expect that". Seems well gutted.
sdb Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Didn't deserve it either. Can only presume every Bruma appearance is driving his loan fee down BIG money. He looks like a League 1 player, not a Prem one.
David Guiza Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Surely money that we're missing out on by not being in the Premier League is larger than the loan fee for Bruma. Would be harsh to say goals were his fault but it's not coincidence that the 3 recent sheets against Derby, Burnley and Scunny. Bruma played a maximum of 5mins at the Sheep.
Charl91 Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Bruma does show some signs of quality, but at the same time, makes big errors. Might be an excellent player in time, but I'd rather he didn't use our games as a training exercise.

I agree with this, Defences need time to form an understanding so hopefully things will settle down a bit in the summer and next season. Anyone who thought Reading would be a push over today are crazy. Beaten by a better more settled team.
Gaffer Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Mee tweeted an hour before kick off that he "didn't see that coming", seems royally ticked off on twitter. He also thinks sven prefers bruma over him. Mee_36Wow, didn't expect that. AaronClavin @Mee_36 you and Big Sol had a good partnership going. Seems Sven fancies his mate Bruma. Mee_36 @AaronClavin wondering the same mate
