Good, never liked him, never wanted him, never rated him.

Quelle surprise!

Thanks for that header against Leeds.

You obviously weren't at wembley when clagger shinned in his 119th minute winner against palace, or when stevie Thompson brought us back to three all against Swindon in the play-off final. Truly magical times...

I'm sure the crowd helped score Thompsons goal it was magical. Although Lenny Glover's equaliser in the 1974 Semi Final At Villa Park was pretty special too, especially standing on the Holt End which probably held about 20000 City fans!

I've seen these blind people who go to matches. I think their match commentators must be crap.

Been a good servent to the club, but too slow for the style we play now and in fairness to the man, probably for most Championship teams. He get a bagful at Wednesday and £300k is a decent price if true.

Stringer and Young.... What did you expect...

To be fair. In the category of 'best footballer who has played for Leicester city who can't actually kick a ball' , Howard would get my vote, just ahead of Ian ormondroyd. If mr personality meggo wants to spend 300 big ones then we should bite his hand off.

Bit harsh on old big nose.... he was a bit of a Peter Crouch to be fair, actually not too bad with his feet, just looked like a baby giraffe on speed..

Top times & thanks for reminding me of both of them. I rarely post but Thompson's goal still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

Super Steve, all the best whatever that is for him. Did a job at times and the Cardiff game was an immense performance.

I think we were 3-0 down at half time if my memory serves me correctly? and then Diving Speedie got them the penalty right in front of where we were sitting. Cheating bastad..never forgave him that one

Two different matches.

Speedie's cheating dive was in 92 play off v Blackburn. George Courtney referee last match, pity he hadn't retired before.

wasn't speedie, speedie dived for the penalty in 1991 (?) for blackburn, got a feeling it might have been glenn hoddle.

I remember thinking we sucked the ball in at Wembley for that goal - what a game! We even made up for it by getting promoted by beating Derby the following season!

Probably good for all concerned if SH moves on - he has done great for us, but his agility has gone now and he doesn't look like a top class Championship player anymore IMO.

His performance at Cardiff was immense... Shame he got stupidly sent off a few weeks earlier and missed the home leg.. I think if that hadn't happened we would have probably won over the two legs

True, both Howard and Fryatt ran their balls off that night and Howard was one of only 2-3 to get over to us in the corner to applaud us due to their fans invading the pitch, he was absolutely gutted and you could see what it meant to him to miss out.

Yeah speedie tripped over his own laces in 92 play off, 93 play off was swindon, 3-0 down at one point, hoddle got one, think maskell got another maybe 2, then walsh, joachim and tommo to bring it back to 3-3, still remember oldfield getting through to make it 4-3 but couldnt get past a last ditch tackle, then they had another dodgy pen to win it.

Agreed, one of the best celebrations of a goal I have witnessed from Leicester fans outside of the League Cup/Play Off finals. Certainly up there with Walshies header to make it 3-3 against Arsenal a few years back.

Yeah, definitely the best moment at the Walkers. Went on for about 20 minutes after full time as well, mad.

He'll still be a player in League 1, and I wish him well if he's off.

Super Steve :scarf:

would be a good deal for both sides.

300k for a 34 year old who will warm our bench is good on our behalf.

on their behalf they get an experienced striker, who will do a great job in leauge one, batteling, winning flick ons for clinton morrisson

I sincerely hope Clinton Morrison is nowhere near Hillsborough next season. He has been an awful signing for us. Lazy, slow, missed a load of chances, he still thinks he's billy big time, and puts no effort in. Morrison would be the first out of the door if it were up to me. Milan has talked of tearing up contracts and I hope his is one of them. Paul Heffernan needs to move on too.

Neil Mellor, Gary Madine, Steve Howard, Jermaine Johnson, and 1 other is what I am hoping for next season. Will Hoskins at Bristol Rovers is another one I would like us to sign.

He was a monster in that league for us.

That is exactly what we need. We have been lacking a bully in the oppositions box.

If he gets a bagful it's a decent price. £300k is a lot to pay for someone of his age though. I wouldn't expect him to start every week if he signed either. I'd like us to sign Steve Howard but I'm apprehensive at that price.
