Simo86 Posted 17 May 2011 Posted 17 May 2011 Next season away at Hull If Hobbs & Howard end up moving there; Are you Leicester, Are you Leicester, Are you Leicester in disguise, Are you Leicester in disguise. .....and maybe Waghorn too!!
ScouseFox Posted 17 May 2011 Posted 17 May 2011 Howard and Fryatt up top, the dream duo. Hull are going up.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 18 May 2011 Posted 18 May 2011 I like Steve Howard, and I still believe him to be a great last fifteen to twenty minutes sub. However, if he can get more regular football, I think we should let him go, if that is what he wants. He has been a good servant to this club.
Wdywd Posted 2 June 2011 Posted 2 June 2011 Leicester stalwart Steve Howard is set to leave the club this summer after being told by manager Sven-Göran Eriksson that he has no place in his plans for the coming campaign. Howard joined the Foxes in 2008 and has weighed in with a healthy number of goals, but Eriksson wishes to base his attack around former England man Darius Vassell in 2011-12, as well as hoping to sign Everton striker Yakubu on a permanent basis after his loan spell last season.Howard has already been linked to Burnley who are in the market for a replacement for the departed Steven Thompson, and Southampton, whose manager Nigel Adkins has expressed doubts about Rickie Lambert's suitability for Championship football. Leicester are likely to ask a fee of around £400k for the targetman, a figure well within the reach of both clubs. Seen stuff along similar lines on various other forums too.
shailen Posted 2 June 2011 Posted 2 June 2011 400k is a bit steep. If we get that ill personally drop him off at his.new club !
leicesterisme Posted 2 June 2011 Posted 2 June 2011 400k for a 35 year old, if anyone does actually bid that much then we are laughing !!
Haydos Posted 2 June 2011 Posted 2 June 2011 I wouldn't sell unless it was for 500 + How did you manage to like your own post?!
Wymsey Posted 2 June 2011 Posted 2 June 2011 I wouldn't sell unless it was for 500 + I would only accept up to 150k for him due to his age and that we're not that desperate to get big written sums in for players sold considering the so called 'unlimited' budget we've supposedly have.
ajthefox Posted 2 June 2011 Posted 2 June 2011 I'm still not convinced he's going anywhere. I don't think Sven would refuse a decent offer but I doubt some of these rumours.
john doe Posted 3 June 2011 Posted 3 June 2011 I would only accept up to 150k for him due to his age and that we're not that desperate to get written sums in for players sold. i would take anything and put it in svens pot 300k fee and howards wages pays yaks wages for a while
BlooArmeh! Posted 3 June 2011 Posted 3 June 2011 i would take anything and put it in svens pot 300k fee and howards wages pays yaks wages for a while Based on the 40k a week he's supposedly On, that'd get us 7.5 games, yippee
john doe Posted 3 June 2011 Posted 3 June 2011 Based on the 40k a week he's supposedly On, that'd get us 7.5 games, yippee so howard plays for free then and i said put it towards his wages more and more mugs on here just wanting to be clever
Simo86 Posted 3 June 2011 Posted 3 June 2011 so howard plays for free then and i said put it towards his wages more and more mugs on here just wanting to be clever Plus we won't be paying the Yak 40k if he signed, like you say some people just can't help being smart arses
Happy Fox Posted 3 June 2011 Author Posted 3 June 2011 http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/football-league/championship/8041/6/burnley-and-barnsley-do-battle-leicester-ace? Burnley and Barnsley are set for a summer transfer battle over Leicester veteran Steve Howard. The 35-year-old has been at Leicester since 2008 but Sven Goran Eriksson is eager to develop youth at Leicester. While the former England manager says he will keep Howard if he is keen to stay, Burnley and Barnsley are ready to test his resolve with a bid for the striker, who has scored 28 league goals in 126 matches for the Foxes. New Barnsley manager Keith Hill wants to add some experience to his side and sees Howard as an ideal signing, while Burnley manager Brian Laws is also keen on Howard having lost Steven Thompson to St. Mirren.
David Guiza Posted 3 June 2011 Posted 3 June 2011 Nice to know TalkSport know who's actually in charge of Burnley.
shailen Posted 3 June 2011 Posted 3 June 2011 I still dont get it! Two championship clubs want howard, one being burnley!
BlooArmeh!
