Blanesta Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 Man I wish birch would just **** off. Nobody gives a shit about your micky mouse university degree. I wish he would stop massaging his own ego through Leicester City. If people knew what 'the birch' was really like they would be repulsed. I like the birch, I don't see why people get so angry and abusive about him, it's strange.
Guest Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 There's a difference between womaniser and lecherous bastard.
FallenAngel Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 This thread has gone from, speculation to desperation to mundane, ridiculous and now slanderous. Totally! But i still keep checking it every 10 mins talk about the Birch is making me lose the will to live!
Dr The Singh Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 Totally! But i still keep checking it every 10 mins talk about the Birch is making me lose the will to live! More importantly what does Maynard think of the Birch, and will Birch's persona have any effect on him signing for us!!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 Totally! But i still keep checking it every 10 mins talk about the Birch is making me lose the will to live! come on Nicky boy put us all out of our long suffering misery, 75 pages (plus the original thread) of conjecture and purile nonsense (not sure what that means but it sounds good ) SIGN FOR CITY (sorry to all those anti CAPITAL letters freaks out there)

Almost as bad as people massaging their ego on a football forum with stories about how they knew him
psychonaut Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 Almost as bad as people massaging their ego on a football forum with stories about how they knew him Firstly I wouldnt say knowing the birch is massaging your ego.. and secondly I never said I knew him, I said I had met him numerous times did I not? I really couldn't give a fvck mate, I was merely giving my opinion on a dirty old bastard.
STUHILL Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 so.....back on topic. The offer of 4 million plus Waggy went in on Wednesday and Bristol City haven't accepted or rejected that offer yet. hmm.... I guess that is better than the straight rejection before and I can't believe Sven would keep going back with slight increased offers if we were no where near a deal!! He must have been given some kinda positive feedback to have pursued this for so long. Maybe it's Maynard's agent or even the player himself who have hinted at a move, who knows. Just hope this gets settled very soon as I'm sure Sven can't afford to wait much longer to get a top striker in. Would definitely take Robbie Keane on loan for a year. 31 and not been great recently but I always thought he oozed quality whenever I saw him. Fook it, get em both in!!!!

At this moment we can only assume the bid has not been rejected and maybe has erected the brizzle board, now were all justing waiting for them to shoot there load!!!
clare Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 This is now an epic saga. Since we've had hackgate and piegate recently with all the News International scandal, I feel that this topic is now worthy of being awarded a "gate", i.e. maynardgate! If we put the bid in on Weds, and, as a couple of FT posters have alluded to above, BCFC haven't rejected it outright, at least that's a step in the right direction. I personally still don't think he will join us, but I would be happy to eat my words
eye666 Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 Over 175 pages spanning 2 threads with no sign of abating. 139 users reading this topic at the moment as well. Massive club. I'm pretty confident, based on nothing at all and just my gut, that this will happen. Brizzle have been trying to play us to get obscene amounts of cash but are now realising that although we are a massive club with deep pockets, we're no mugs and aren't going to get ripped off. He's not going to sign another contract there because they're at best a mid-table Championship team and haven't got that much of a hope of getting to the Prem any time soon when compared to other teams in the division, and he obviously will want Prem footy. We're looking like a much better prospect and I have no doubts he'd want to play for us. It's just being drawn out as Brizzle want loads of dosh, but the closer to deadline day it gets, the less cash he's worth. They will sell him up now for a few million rather than lose him for a lot less in Jan or free next year. Add to that the Sven factor and the fact that we can bully nearly every team in our league into getting what we want because we are a massive club, I reckon he'll be in Blue next season. Just be patient and believe in :sge:
Itsthejoeker Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 Who wouldn't want to bang in 20 goals to win a side promotion and become an absolute hero?
shade Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 whats all this 20 goals a season nonsense, when i played under 12's i would regularly bang in 50 or 60 goals a season.
Chazwaz Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 I was hoping we would have a new striker by Real Madrid, looking less and less likely now...

eye666 Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 It does make sense and it will be best for all parties. Brizzle set out at the start of the window saying that they wanted to keep him because he's their best player and will score goals. Now it's becoming apparent that he won't sign another contract, they'll be willing to sell him so that they will get a load of cash rather than holding onto him and losing him for free as let's face it, they probably won't be in the promotion mix-up come the end of the season and are a lot less likely to be in the Prem than us next season. Why risk losing £4-5m and the chance to invest in 2-3 decent Championship players when they'll (more than likely) be in the same division next season. We'll get our number one target which will make :sge: a very happy chappy, and Maynard will get more cash and more opportunities to further his career at an ambitious club that's going places. As I say, this deal is best for all concerned which is why I'm confident that it will happen. Bristol were just playing hardball as they don't want him to leave but as he's not signing a new contract they will want to cash in on him whilst they can. Just have to be patient.
ibbosuk Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 Come on then Berlinton...Earn your corn......Is Maynard gonna be rolled out at the KP before the madrid game...?
NeilyBoy Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 This threads beginning to smack a bit of arrogance. I'm pleased as punch we finally seem to have a long(er than usual) term manager and backers with pockets but lets not get above our stations just yet. If he comes, he comes, let's just wait and see.
Monkeh BCFC Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 hey foxes, congrats on your last few signings there crackers, Just to let you know Maynard has been named in tomorrows squad to face West Brom
