themotivator Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 i find it difficult to read back past this thread, but isn't long going at around 8.5mil? dont know if anyone else has already mentioned since this last rumour arose
Itsthejoeker Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 Fooking hell, no one has said Maynard is coming for £8m, Maynard has not even been mention in the same sentence as that figure. 8m is a twitter rumour about a PL player. NOT Maynard
HoustonFox Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 Sven said he wants a striker in before the Madrid game Saturday. Meaning tomorrow could be a very eventful day, potentially the signing of an unknown surprise striker none of us know about. Or Maynard maybe. Or Adebayor I mentioned Adebayor a while ago - does that mean if it comes off I get to harp on about it forever? It would fit our Man City signings profile and I would love especially if he came in time for the Real Madrid game... Just woke up, it'll be John Guidetti on loan - did anyone see his penalty miss in the "Balotelli backheel" game?
HoustonFox Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 Only up the poo shoot. Don't have to look at her face then. Bert, please don't write things like that while you have pics of innocent little Waggy as your sig...

NOT Maynard if this is to me. i was talking bout LONG. forgot to give him a capital L so you might have missed it. i know its the wrong thread, but someone was banging on about this 8.5 mil guy rumour. (im aware its probably bullshit too)

(im aware its probably bullshit too) It was to the people above, but I saw yours and in my tiredness didn't read it properly I'm just getting pissy as people seem to find it hard to read the previous page.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 Probably got some right mud flaps going on. About time someone wrote something decent in this thread

Babylon Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 + 1 mate. I just think this all smacks of desperation now. We are running out of time to get the striker we most definitely need if we have any chance of getting top 6 this season (if you bear in mind just over a week to start of season and for a player to bond with the team etc) and we have put so much effort into getting this one player that hasn't worked out. I think Bristol have ran out winners ar the negotiating table as they have taken us all the way until we are just prepared to pay anything just to say we got a striker in. We should have walked away weeks ago and put our efforts into other options - sadly mist of those options are now gone. If we still are after him then it's us who have been playing Bristol... Closer it gets to the season with no signature on that contract, the more likely they are to sell.

Sven has preached about wanting players who want to play for city and Maynard hasnt even handed in a transfer request hardly spells out a burning desire to play for us does it?
Bert Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 The bid went in Wednesday, factoid. Bristol are dragging their heels.
Happy Fox Posted 29 July 2011 Author Posted 29 July 2011 It is inevitable this will happen whether it takes some time and if not we will get another striker, trying to be positive

No we haven't, if anyone looks like mugs it's Bristol "He's going nowhere, we won't sell to a champ team, he's happy here" City. We have been patient to get our main target, knowing full well that he wasn't going to sign a new contract. No signature = he'll be sold, there is no need for a transfer request (which could well be worth almost a 7 figure sum to him). Playing the long game does not make us mugs.

You call him a cock for not handing in a transfer request? Jesus....maybe he's just sitting tight, showing his current club some respect and waiting for them to actually accept an offer for him before he decides whether to move or see out his contract It doesn't mean he doesn't want to play for us either , sven must of had some encouragement off his agent to keep perusing him.

Happy Fox Posted 29 July 2011 Author Posted 29 July 2011 Bert I have heard we are in for robbie keane on loan? Any truth in this? Is this in relation to this post or have you heard anything different Posted Today, 07:32 AM It is not really a twitter rumour http://www.skysports...2,16620,00.html Chris Dean (Leeds United) says... Robbie Keane to Leicester - season long loan or permanent. This comes from a mate who is a therapist/masseur at the club, he's been having talks, looks nailed on. Or maybe he didnt want to forfeit his bonuses etc by handing in the request
thybluefox Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 I think the fact they've not rejected this bid straight away speaks volumes. The situation has changed now, they've realised he's unlikely to sign a new contract, and a prem club is unlikely to come in for him.
