Lita has gone to Swansea so we are safe :giggle:

This threads beginning to smack a bit of arrogance. I'm pleased as punch we finally seem to have a long(er than usual) term manager and backers with pockets but lets not get above our stations just yet. If he comes, he comes, let's just wait and see.

Agreed. We should never assume a player wants to or will come to our club, regardless of the fame of our manager or depth of our owners' pockets. If Maynard comes, he comes. There's no need to be baiting the Bristol City fans as some people seem to be.

My personal feelings about this ongoing situation and, indeed, this discussion thread are:

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhasdhfkjasdvlbwoeqqwfiuqbvcwibdoib !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks x

If I was Bristol City's manager, I'd name Maynard in the squad just to keep Brizzle's fans happy and to avoid starting even more speculation, whether he's staying or not. Doesn't it worry you that he's in the last year of his contract and won't sign a new one?

Lita signed for Swansea. Keep up. You're right, though - he is a waste of space. No, he's worse than that - he'll piss off the rest of the squad, too.

Has he actually been named in the squad, or just not listed by your website as unavailable?

The manager is only going to go about his business normally and prepare for the season with Maynard until the board informs him of any changes in the situation (accepted bid essentially). It doesn't really mean anything. They're more than likely still mulling it over.

Thought this myself, If he wasn't to select Maynard it'd have all the obvious signs to BC fans that he's offski

"Lita has gone to Swansea"

Makes them yet another Premier League club unlikely to be interested in Nicky Mayard. They're fast running out.

Nicky should hurry up and sign that contract at BCFC; otherwise the decision of the BCFC hierarchy not to sell to another Championship club might end up as looking like an appalling piece of judgement in January.

Neil Kilkenny has recovered from an ankle injury to take his place in City's squad to face West Brom at Ashton Gate tomorrow (3pm).

The Australian international is amongst 20 players named in the squad for the club's only home pre-season fixture.

A further squad has been named for the friendly at Frome Town tomorrow, also a 3pm start.

The only absentees are Marlon Jackson (Achilles), Damion Stewart (ankle) and Dean Gerken (groin).

In goal at Frome is Nike Academy keeper Brandon Hall.

City v West Brom: James, Carey (gk); Edwards, Carey, Wilson, Fontaine, Nyatanga, McAllister; Adomah, Bolasie, Elliott, Kilkenny, Skuse, Campbell-Ryce, Reid, Woolford; Pitman, Taylor, Stead, Maynard.

City v Frome Town: Hall, Sandiford; Ribeiro, Hunt, Ball, Muggeridge, Rigg; Johnson, Cisse, Holloway, Lennox, Burns; Abbott, Clarkson, Scott.

From their OS. He's also about to be given a squad number too.

No disrespect to you but ITK Bert has said we made a bid on Wednesday

The media manager at BCFC said you hadn't done so.

Not to say that a bid hasn't gone in since then of course, but the bottom line is that our Chief Exec has said it will be sorted one way or another before August as it can't be allowed to drag on past that time. He said that a week or two ago.

Let's hope he's right, I expected something to come out of the club today..

Hmmm I think there is alot of idealistic pr coming from both clubs.

For us fans we would like this to be over one way or another. LCFC do need another top quality championship striker! BCFC dont want to weaken their attack. Suitable compensation needs to be agreed here or we move on hopefully ASAP!

I thought you weren't selling him to a championship no matter what and you don't need the money!!!!

To be honest though, the media manager at BCFC isn't about to start telling people if they're considering a bid for one of their star players.
