Leicester_Loyal Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Still confident we'll probably get the Yak and Maynard tbh. Defo at least one.

RyanB89 Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Yakubu is not coming back. He will be given a second chance at Everton and he is happy with this.
PWII Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 The yak refused to accept the deal that Sven offered him, his agent pushed his price up too high and therefore negotiations have broken down.
MPH Posted 10 July 2011 Posted 10 July 2011 The yak is to lazy to be with us but a alright player *deep breaths* im off to go think of a happy place... Happy Gilmore style...
trueblue111 Posted 10 July 2011 Posted 10 July 2011 What a ridiculous post. a) Even the Yak wouldn't score 11 in 11. b) How are you going to raise his work rate to 70%? Assuming it wasn't that already of course - he's lazy, he will always be lazy. Running is not his game. c) 120% isn't possible. d) Who are we trying to sign that will give '120%' and not score? No one. We're in for Maynard, who scores, and we were in for CMS, who scores. There must be a reason why this has gone quiet. I don't think the Yak is big on the idea of dropping down to the Champ, not for an entire season on a permo at any rate. no yak didn score 11 in 11, but got 11 in 20. incredible record even for the championship. you can say he is lazy but thats only when hes not motivated, if you go back to his previous clubs he does put himself about when he wants to until he fall out with the manager etc. cms scores? got 11 goals in 47 matches in the championship didnt he??
Bert Posted 10 July 2011 Posted 10 July 2011 What is wrong with people? We're not gonna get anyone better, for the price. He might be lazy, but he scores goals, scares the shit out of defenders, is string as anything and creates so Much space for others. If we're gonna try for Maynard, the silly money we're spending on the fee alone could be spent on Yakubu as well as his wages. Obviously, there's something else that has gone on here bit for me, we're not going to sign a better goalscorer.
Haydos Posted 10 July 2011 Posted 10 July 2011 I'd prefer Yakubu but it doesn't seem even slightly on the cards at the moment? What's the last you heard Bert? Apologies if you've mentioned it a million times.

samstown92 Posted 10 July 2011 Posted 10 July 2011 Fourth_Official Fourth Official Everton have taken a £3.5m deal with #LCFC over Yakubu off the table, meaning #LCFC offer a huge take it or leave it deal for Maynard #BCFC
Bert Posted 10 July 2011 Posted 10 July 2011 I'd prefer Yakubu but it doesn't seem even slightly on the cards at the moment? What's the last you heard Bert? Apologies if you've mentioned it a million times. Heard nothing on this for a while now.

Bert, you have a point but Maynard would, if successful, command a good sell on fee, whereas Yakubu is quite possibly coming towards the end of his big moves. So whilst he may be cheaper, Maynard MIGHT prove to be a better proposition.
Haydos Posted 10 July 2011 Posted 10 July 2011 Heard nothing on this for a while now. I meant the last real news we had on him really. This is directed at anyone by the way, can't remember where we finished with this.
Bert Posted 10 July 2011 Posted 10 July 2011 I meant the last real news we had on him really. This is directed at anyone by the way, can't remember where we finished with this. The last real news that we'd hit deadlock over terms.
lcfcjim Posted 10 July 2011 Posted 10 July 2011 The last real news that we'd hit deadlock over terms. Ooo deadlock, X Factor style....
cc_star Posted 10 July 2011 Posted 10 July 2011 Sounds like Everton want him for themselves now - Probably had their wishlist whittled away to nothing, so need to keep him Does look like all our eggs are in one basket & now Bristol City will know this - There's no way Maynard is worth over 5 (or even 4 to be honest) I'm not sure what we do, but Nugent needs someone else & Vassell is pretty far from the answer in my book
FallenAngel Posted 11 July 2011 Posted 11 July 2011 I'm not sure what we do, but Nugent needs someone else & Vassell is pretty far from the answer in my book I don't know why we still have Vassell tbh, cant someone enlighten me?? I'm glad we're not getting Yakubu, couldnt warm to him at all, too lazy, we need a fighter, and someone more consistent, Maynard is valued far to high imo, £4m tops!! Surely Svengali has other targets in mind, and not like someone else has said, all eggs in one basket?
Toffee_Fox Posted 11 July 2011 Posted 11 July 2011 Everton ITK reporting that Everton after ages got to a fee with them over Yak which Everton only just accepted because Yak had his heart set on the move, they showed no-signs in pushing through a deal, and both Everton & Yak got the impression he was one of many options and not really wanted so when they spoke to his agent offering a take it or leave it very low offer even lower than some deadwood he got fed up and told them where to stick it, Everton got pissed off about fee's of £4m for Maynard and £3m for CMS being in the press so told us where to go and took him on pre-season where he has impressed a lot, he might still leave but they think for more than we were offering and to a club that actually wants him. Interesting, just thought I'd pass it on, this person is always spot on regarding transfers and team news.
Guest Posted 11 July 2011 Posted 11 July 2011 I don't know why we still have Vassell tbh, cant someone enlighten me?? We've still got him cos he signed a contract til 2012 I believe and ain't a bad player at all
FallenAngel Posted 11 July 2011 Posted 11 July 2011 What's his assists like? Cos obviously he isnt our main target main?
Guest Posted 11 July 2011 Posted 11 July 2011 So what does fox 23 post mean I think it means that we weren't that bothered. Yak wasn't that bothered, Everton weren't that bothered. Yak thought he'd try a little for pre-season fun Everton jizzed Everton took Yak off the market in the hope that he can help them finish mid table.
