John Matrix Posted 11 July 2011 Posted 11 July 2011 So what does fox 23 post mean had to read it over again slowly to try and break down what i thought i'd read. We put a bid in for the Yak. The bid seemed to be put in just to keep them sweet as we looked at other targets, it was also a low bid. They saw the CMS and Maynard bids and action and got pissed off because we offered less for Yak who proved he could score goals at this level. So they decided to keep him.
cc_star Posted 11 July 2011 Posted 11 July 2011 Everton ITK reporting that Everton after ages got to a fee with them over Yak which Everton only just accepted because Yak had his heart set on the move, they showed no-signs in pushing through a deal, and both Everton & Yak got the impression he was one of many options and not really wanted so when they spoke to his agent offering a take it or leave it very low offer even lower than some deadwood he got fed up and told them where to stick it, Everton got pissed off about fee's of £4m for Maynard and £3m for CMS being in the press so told us where to go and took him on pre-season where he has impressed a lot, he might still leave but they think for more than we were offering and to a club that actually wants him. Interesting, just thought I'd pass it on, this person is always spot on regarding transfers and team news. Sounds plausible, almost like we were using Yakubu & CMS to try and show Bristol City & Maynard's agent & Maynard himself that we have other irons in the fire. Now we don't have other irons in the fire, it is us who are on dodgy ground
Guest Posted 11 July 2011 Posted 11 July 2011 Dodgy ground? We have shown that we have cash to spend on whatever Striker we decide to go for.
Toffee_Fox Posted 11 July 2011 Posted 11 July 2011 No Everton accepted the offer because Yakubu expressed his desire to remain here but he feels the club didn't really want him and we're looking elsewhere so he said he'd like to stay at Everton and has impressed.

But they wanted rid of Yakubu? Bristol City don't want to sell Maynard, hence why the transfer fees were unproportionate.
Coolcurt15lcfc Posted 11 July 2011 Posted 11 July 2011 Yakubu is just fat, lazy and is only in it for the money don't sign him
Haydos Posted 11 July 2011 Posted 11 July 2011 Yakubu is just fat, lazy and is only in it for the money don't sign him eee scorez loadza goalz tho
Bezzanator89 Posted 12 July 2011 Posted 12 July 2011 As much as he is a lazy sod, he scored 11 in 20 for us, that is a good return, as much as it pains us to say it. Still don't think we should pay his wages, that being the only stumbling block, not to mention his reluctance to drop to Championship level.
cc_star Posted 12 July 2011 Posted 12 July 2011 Everton have removed our bid. /end Reportedly we have a £35k wage cap & Yak is more than that. Therefore he's not coming, hardly makes him greedy - why take a wage drop if you're ok where you are
mintyda Posted 12 July 2011 Posted 12 July 2011 ColinUdoh14 mins agovia TweetDeck Bad times for Yak. I understand that Everton have lowered their asking price for him, but still no takers. Sad, cos he can score goals

Sad, cos he can score goals @Fourth_Official One last thing; Paul Konchesky is not on 40k a week at #LCFC they have a wage structure they wouldn't break for Yak on 35k a week. So who knows what our structure is & how much we'd have to break it by to capture the Yak - but then what would all the other players think?
accessory Posted 12 July 2011 Posted 12 July 2011 http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=74607 I was at the seminar with Sven and Tord today also. There is alot of things I could tell you about but one thing wasSven said that we had a very good striker last year in Yakubu but his workrate wasn't great. That's ok he said but we want a striker who comes form behind and try to score, Yakubu never did that he just wanted the ball delivered to him. >He didn't sound as if Yakubu was an option (slightly cleaned up from the original - the gist is still the same though..)
thybluefox Posted 12 July 2011 Posted 12 July 2011 Yakubu sounds very much the same as CMS. Nice if we could get him on our terms but not the be all and end all.
Ozwin Posted 12 July 2011 Posted 12 July 2011 I do like this, now we're in the driving seat. Clean my shoes Yakubitch and then we'll talk about a contract.
cc_star Posted 15 July 2011 Posted 15 July 2011 We know this is now dead, unless we no doubt increase our fee considering how much we've been waving around elsewhere and break our wage structure which is highly unlikely @Fourth_Official Yakubu starts for Everton in their first pre-season game tonight after being pulled out of a deal to #LCFC last week
gazfox9 Posted 15 July 2011 Posted 15 July 2011 I agree, its nice that the balls in our court. By the sound of it Everton have seen we've got a few £££ to spend, withdraw our bid, hoping we come back with a higher bid??? just speculating, but its nice to be able to say 'thanks, but no thanks.'
Haydos Posted 15 July 2011 Posted 15 July 2011 He's just scored for Everton... But is he running around loads?
