80footgiraffe Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 The thing about the yak is, we'd be dead happy with him for about a month, and then, when he's scored about 3 goals, he'll be like "that'll do" and start falling over the ball again. Yeah, I do want him, but I think we'd be sick of him soon enough. Whatever happens, Sven is doing it right, he's not lost anyone he didn't want to lose yet....cept Westwood. Sven walked away from the CMS deal, or at least that's what I've been told several times.

Maynard looks dead in the water and Mackail-Smith's gone elsewhere, leaving us with little in the way of real quality left on the radar. Would love him back here.

I also would not be surprised if Sven gets a target out of left field, especially for the Striker role. I also would love to to see the Yak back. But unless he modifies his wage demands, I don't think he will be back. Even though the owners are showing great ambition by spending, I don't think they and Sven want a huge range of wages paid to our main players. This looks to have been the major issue earlier when the club was negotiating with the Yak and is likely to be still.

I think sometimes we forget that there are countless other players throughout the world and get bogged down with speculation to the point where people are saying if we dont get Yak or Maynard we're fvcked.

Himself, Nugent & Paul Gallagher as a frontline would defo get goals. The one thing that stands out to me is that he does not APPEAR to have the thurst to play for us which Sven wants in every player we sign and rightlfully so.
