Leicester_Loyal Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Danny Graham http://www.mirrorfoo..._medium=twitter Will go for less than 2.5 million in my opinion. I'd prefer Yakubu for 2 million though. Any thoughts?
ajthefox Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Would probably be a good signing but I'd still be a little cautious with the money since without this season his record isn't exactly special.
Jackirius Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Al Habsi would be class. Think he'll probably stay in the prem though, along with Rodallega. Hmmm, I can see them going abroad or too another prem team also, but might be worth a shot as Wigan will be strapped for cash if they come down. 1 year contract with a promise for PL football in a year maybe?
LCFCmatt Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 What about billy sharp? Doncaster have said that they will sell for £2.5 million, and I have always rated him (apart from when he dived for Sheffield United and got Kisnorbo sent off the other year)

sdb Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Not bad Peggy! Good name and fairly sensible post compared to most new posters. Not sure about Bruma yet, and Kightley would be a risk imo. Pratley and Maynard yes, added to Yak and KN and Cunningham = as good as guaranteed top 6.
PegguyArphexad Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Cheers sdb. To be honest, I do not particularly rate Bruma but I think the reality is that he is coming on loan again. I am sure that in a solid Chelsea team in the next few years he will look very good, but I am not sure he is wholly suited to the Championship. I think Wolves will offer Kightley a new deal, but 'if' they stay up it would possibly be worth trying a loan deal to allow him to regain match sharpness. On his day before his injury he was a very good player in the Championship. A more speculative target who I think is a wonderful player is Adam Lallana from Southampton, doubt Saints would sell him unless to a Premiership team. However, if Sven has a big war-chest for me personally, that is the sort of player he should be targeting. Elliot Bennet is another good young player from League 1, but Brighton do not need to sell and turned down a £1.5m offer in January from Norwich.
sdb Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Bennet is the assist machine right? He and Lallana are good shouts but buying off promoted teams will be hard. See what you mean re: Bruma
TheUltimateWinner Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Have you seen a doctor recently? If not, I would strongly recommend it. Na just yesterday was a strange day for me
PegguyArphexad Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Bennet is the assist machine right? He and Lallana are good shouts but buying off promoted teams will be hard. See what you mean re: Bruma Yes, Elliot Bennet is a great supplying wide midfielder. Managed to see Brighton a bit this season, and he has been outstanding. Interestingly Kishishev has had a good season too (especially towards the start). If Southampton don't get promoted Jose Fonte is a fantastic central defender, and I am not sure he would want another season in League 1. Having watched plenty of League 1 football this season, I don't think there is anyone else to report on apart from Alex Chamberlain, but he will be off to one of the big four. Regardless I think Sven will be looking up, rather than down for transfer targets.
Salieri Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Agree with some of the names being bandied about. Westwood would be a good shout to solve the keeper problem. Pratley would be a superb addition to the middle. Out wide if Reading don't go up I'd pull out all the stops to land Kebe, same goes for Sinclair at Swansea. Up front, Graham and Maynard, either or would be nice. Defensively, hmmmm. I think a lot depends on the situation regarding the loanees, but it's certainly an area that needs strengthening, Faye from Stoke would be a tidy addition. Ultimately, we need to be buying players who are not only good enough to get us out of this division, but of sufficient quality to hold their own in the Prem.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 I wouldn't be suprised if Sol Campbell arrived here next season

darko2k7 Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Clarke Carlisle anyone ? Solid, intelligent defender could do a good job for a season or two .

Shame in some ways 'casue there's evidently some talent in the lower divisions and they often come with better attitudes and knowledge of these leagues. Is Chamberlain that good then? I've only seen bits and pieces.

I've only seen bits and pieces. Yes, to be honest he really is that good. I have seen him I think 6 times (as he has been injured a lot in the last 2 months)... and having watched the 'bursting onto the scene' by Walcott and Bale for example, he is certainly as good. Very quick, but also has control, skill and composed in front of goal. I think he has the potential to be an England international in the future if he is developed right. It would be a travesty in a way if he went to a top 4 club and sat on the bench and played reserve football for the next 4/5 years.. hopefully he will stay at Saints, or even better move to Leicester. However, money talks and rumours of a £10m move to the 'top four' or one of the big European players in the next 24 months is most likely not too wide of the mark.
Haydos Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Chamberlain will be off to Arsenal/Man U/Tottenham in the summer, probably to be loaned back for another season. He'll take a similar route to Walcott IMO.
Father Ted Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 ALI AL HABSI, please, most underrated keeper in the prem.
