escos Posted 16 July 2011 Posted 16 July 2011 barrcode88 barrcode88 Heskey off to Leicester City, we've accepted 600K #avfc #LCFC Just spotted this on twitter. Surely not? It's on the mirror website so probably lifted from there.
Collymore Posted 16 July 2011 Posted 16 July 2011 Twitter is the most annoying and unreliable thing ever. Fact
Stevosevic Posted 16 July 2011 Posted 16 July 2011 Would be surprised, we don't need heskey, nugent and one of Maynard/Yak.

Brainy Posted 16 July 2011 Posted 16 July 2011 Bullshit. Would love it, but bullshit. theres a reason his recent clubs want to keep shipping him on, blah blah blah
Stevosevic Posted 16 July 2011 Posted 16 July 2011 theres a reason his recent clubs want to keep shipping him on, blah blah blah Hardly, he left Wigan and took a step up. He was one of their best players and I am sure they would have liked to have kept him.
Wymsey Posted 16 July 2011 Posted 16 July 2011 Wouldn't Villa want more than 600k for him? I hear they've got quite a bit of money for Mcleish to spend, so I suppose they may allow us to buy him cheaply than expected.
Blue Bob Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 maybe being bought up again as a way to force Maynards hand, either state you wont sign a new contract - so BCFC may wish to cash in now or as a club we have other options. Sven aimed to have all the transfers done early to have a good pre-season together. If Maynard is stalling and trying to hold out for a premiership side, then I think a strike force of Nugent and Heskey is a pretty good option and would worry more than a few defences!!
Charl91 Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 I would love Heskey. Dont think he would get us promoted, but I wouldn't even care
Ozwin Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 Just watched the first half of the Atletico Madrid away game again. Heskey single handidly scaring the shit out of their defenders is enough for me to want him back. Legend.
teblin Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 Heskey, Vassell, .nugent, Waghorn would be very decent striker options at this Level. Nearly 90 caps for england betwwen 3 of them. I think at this level Heskey would get 10-15 if fully fit. Add to that he would probably create as many for others.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 Would love players like King, Nugent and Waggy feeding off Heskeys knock downs and flick ons. Heskeys value won't be about goals but holding the ball up, worrying defenders and flick ons etc. Defenders at this level would hate to have to defend Heskey they will pay him so much attention it will allow our other forwards to get more space.

Agree Heskey would be a great signing, but IMO we need a striker who's going to consistently stick it in the net e.g. yak, maynard I don't see we have that at the mo, gally and darius don't score too many, hopefully nugent will do but i don't see that either.
crazylegs1984 Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 for that price and if he doesnt demand high wages yes take him on he can bully defenders while the yak finishes it off or maynard

sdb Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 mixed views from the villa fans it seems Mixed? They seem over the bloody moon. Hope he comes back if we can get him on reasonable wages (i.e. 25k max).
Guest Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 But it's true about his goalscoring. Maybe you lot have forgotten him at the city. Sure he was a tank and fast and could hold the ball up well. but he fell over nearly as often as Lineker and couldn't score from 2 feet away. I'll take him at 600,000 but it's more for what he can do for others than what he can do for himself.
CosbehFox Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 Bullshit. Would love it, but bullshit. The Mirror's been very accurate with us this Summer and I said a week ago, we made a bid for him.
Happy Fox Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 I don't think the fee is a problem it's his wages if Heskey is willing to lower his wages then come home Heskey
