Osama Bin Laden Dead!

Recommended Posts

I did. He used the exact same bloody photo of those bits of steel as well, not worthy of another second. You could have a hand written, video taped, signed in blood confession from Bin Laden that it was all down to him and the government had nothing to do with it... they would just say it was all faked.

I sympathise with your view, I really do. But just as many have fingers in their ears and are willfully denying any wrongdoing by the authorities of which I see a few in here... It's all well and good ridiculing the 'conspiracy believers' but there are just as many idiots on the other side. And if you ask me, neither side have put forward a convincing and plausible set of arguments, and it might just be that neither of them are right.

Innocent until proven guilty, it's for people to prove guilt of wrong doing not their innocence.

Of course authorities had done some shady stuff, they will bend the truth etc. But the theory of them doing 9/11 has so many holes in it it's looks like it's been gunned down Lee Harvey Oswald.

unless your name is osama bin laden of course :)

as far as i'm aware there has not been one shred of hard evidence to link him to the events of 9/11 yet, although we have been promised some in due course

so just what is he definitely guilty of ?

I remember him admitting it on a video released some years ago.

Also, have you seen his beard? Got to be guilty

that bloke who admitted it on video was nothing like OBL , he was about 3 stone heavier , had a broad flat nose and was right handed

I'm sure the video I'm talking about was released in 2004

Anyway - rather than everyone talking about nonsense conspiracy theories, why don't we actually talk about some serious issues arising from this -

Is the use of 'Enhanced Interrogation Techniques' acceptable in certain circumstances?

Thoughts?

At the end of the day, maybe somebody died, maybe they didn't, maybe they were already dead, maybe they were actually working undercover for the CIA, but nothing has changed.

Al-qaeda still exists and it still has a leader. The king is dead; long live the king! On so many levels this is almost a non-event. It's purely vigilante action on a global scale.

So who's next? Kim Jung-il? Gaddafi? Justin Beiber? It won't make any difference, there's always some git ready to pick up the mantle.

If you think questioning the events of 9/11 and not believing what you hear on BBC news and CNN make you a conspiracy theorist, why don't you call these people conspiracy theorists. Family members who have lost some close to them, asking questions of their own government, and why not? They have every right to question them, they have every right to be able to open an investigation in to the truth.

It's not enough for them to hear that their family members have died because a bunch of crazy arabs decided to hijack planes and fly it over a country in to the wtc, in a country who constantly monitors their air space. Why should it be enough for us?

I agree with you that the conspiracy theories are implausible. That isn't my focus of attention either. I'm just convinced that what the authorities claim as 'true' isn't necessarily so, and I definitely feel that the matter hasn't been thoroughly investigated by independent agents. And the reason it bothers me so, is that the incident, together with WMD allegations, fuelled support for a war against Afghanistan and Iraq. My country has been involved in these wars which I don't believe were justified.

No !

If we want to simplify the answer and go back to childhood - Two wrongs dont make a right.

If we as civilised human beings condone torture then we are no better than the the "terrorists". The fact that so many will agree to waterbaording and all of the other "techniques" once agin proves that the terrorists are winning/have won.

Shame!

Just his admission that it was him then? is that not considered evidence?

Just another thought.. maybe just MAYBE the CIA or FBI or american government dont release all the evidence they have on OBL to the average guy like you and me...

Al-qaeda have admitted Osama Bin Laden is dead.

So for years the Western powers have been saying, "don't believe a word Al-qaeda say," and now they're going, "see, we told you!"

Couldnt get to the end, winds me up.

Some right do-gooders on here questioning wether it was right to kill Bin Laden. Wether torture is right or wrong etc.

There is a line. He was the most evil **** on earth how could anyone possibly criticize anything that happened to him or the procedures, human rights etc.

Open your ****ing eyes! Hope the bastard rots in hell.

Al-Qaeda has confirmed the death of its leader Osama Bin Laden, according to a statement attributed to the group and posted on jihadist internet forums.

The statement said his blood would not be "wasted" and that al-Qaeda would continue attacking the US and allies.

Bin Laden's death would be a "curse" for the US and urged an uprising in Pakistan, the statement added.

The militant was shot dead on Monday when US commandos stormed his compound in the Pakistani town of Abbottabad.

The raid was carried out without the prior knowledge of the Pakistani authorities, increasing tension between the two countries.

Several rallies are being held across Pakistan on Friday in protest.

The statement published on jihadist web forums said an audiotape would be released of the al-Qaeda leader speaking a week before his death.

"[Osama Bin Laden's blood] will remain, with permission from Allah, the Almighty, a curse that chases the Americans and their agents, and goes after them inside and outside their countries," it warned.

"Their happiness will turn into sorrow, and their blood will be mixed with their tears. We call upon our Muslim people in Pakistan, on whose land Sheikh Osama was killed, to rise up and revolt."

Correspondents say many Pakistanis are angry at what they see as a US infringement of their country's sovereignty.

They are also critical of Pakistan's government for allowing the commando operation to happen, although officials deny they were told.

Around 1,000 people gathered in central Abbottabad following Friday prayers, AFP news agency reported.

They set fire to tyres, blocked a main road and shouted "Down, down USA!" and "terrorist, terrorist, USA terrorist".

Anti-American sentiment also appeared to be high at a similar protest in the south-western city of Quetta, the capital of Baluchistan province.

However, a BBC correspondent in Rawalpindi says the anti-US protest there was much smaller than expected with about 50 people turning up.

.... and none of this applies to those who supported the IRA like Peter T King or Bush, Cheney and Bliar who told porkies about WMD. You see the problem I have with sentiments like yours is that they are one way and do not recognise all the evil that there is the world and do not advocate dealing with all evil doers in the same way. It undermines your credibility. <_<

surely they would say they have hard evidence but cannot disclose it but the fbi say they have no hard evidence themselves , not me :)
