Must be very dissapointing for Adams too, being a Sheff Utd fan too and leaving a team he was doing well with to go there. Don't know where he'll go from here.

Like us the season we went down.

They might strike lucky and find their Pearson. Or they might not, and end up like Bradford/Wednesday/Charlton.

Common sense, he's a poor manager and his teams are horrible to watch.

Well thats not true.

Taking a team into the Premier whilst they are in admin, with a total of 92 points and losing just 6 all season isnt bad.

He took Cov to 8th place in the Championship, then they sacked him the season after. They could only dream of 8th now.

Completely turned Port Vale around and they were top when he left. Look at them now, they never recovered from losing him.

The only place I can recall him doing badly is at Brighton second time around.

I recall him signing up a squad of past its in his 3rd season that took us 5 years to recover from.

Do you also recall the fact we had absolutely no money due to being in admin less than a year before? Some of those 'past its', were good players. Ferdinand got player of the year that season, was he past it?!!? Its not liek we went down like Derby did a few years back with about 11 points, we put up a good fight and nearly did it.

We could and probably should have even stayed up that season if it wasnt for last minute goals every other game. He did a great job on very limited resources.

I'm not sure what you mean by '5 years to recover from'. When Adams left us we werent far from the PO's and since he left we gradually got worse and worse until we were relegated to the third tier. He did the best he could clearing up the mess that Taylor left us in, and how you can criticise him is beyond me.

Ferdinand wasn't signed in his 3rd season?

He was rightly sacked after fielding this team against QPR: K. Pressman, C. Makin, M. Keown, N. Dabizas, J. Wilcox, J. Scowcroft, S. Gemmill, L. Nalis, N. Blake, D. Dublin, D. Connolly.

Bad decision, If he was given a full pre season, no doubt they'd be back up there.

He worked wonders at Port Vale before he left and with us whilst we were in admin.

@ Peterborough Fox - Adams left us fucked in the long-term, though. Average age of the squad must've been early thirties, late twenties at a push.

You say he had 'no money,' but if you think the likes of Ferdinand, Howey (shudder), Keown, Deane etc were being paid peanuts, you're deluded.

Makes no sense.

They did the hard bit and stuck by him while losing game after game in the Championship, now he can actually build his own side in the summer they pull the rug.

Silly in my opinion.

Yeah he did sign a lot of older players, but you dont get many decent young ones on free transfers lido you?

Micky Adams did a good job on limited resources, clearing up the mess from previosu managers. The bootom line is if Taylor hadnt wasted so much money we wouldnt have got that far, and wouldnt be having this discussion.
