Uncle Phil Posted 21 May 2011 Posted 21 May 2011 Ruined our season? One player doesn't ruin a season. He clearly has a great future in the game ahead of him. He came into a squad with huge expectations, lots of pressure, no regular defensive partner and at the age of 19. If we get him back I can see him having a very solid season, tbh I think we'll be lucky to get him back.
Adster Posted 21 May 2011 Posted 21 May 2011 Im sorry but to me he was the worst player to put our shirt on since Josh Low.
artursteppe Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Wessel Weezenberg, the agent for Jeffrey Bruma says 'Hamburg', in the German Bundesliga are interested in taking him on loan - Frank Arnesen ( who knows Bruma from his Chelsea days ) has confirmed the interest by saying ( Bruma ) 'is indeed a candidate for us'. I won't lose any sleep over that one.
Fox 4 Life Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Would rather keep PVA than Bruma, he has shown flashes of class but as a CB he is too inconsistent and has shown his immaturity a few times with his temper.
Simo86 Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Would rather keep PVA than Bruma, he has shown flashes of class but as a CB he is too inconsistent and has shown his immaturity a few times with his temper. Is that the same PVA who plays left back, is great going forward and can't defend for toffee?
Ashley Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Is that the same PVA who plays left back, is great going forward and can't defend for toffee? The same PVA who's just signed a four year deal at Chelsea who must be doing something right in his game? I've slated Bruma before however the kid does have potential.

I think PVA will be a good player once he sorts his defending out, pretty much the way Ashley Cole went but whilst he's still as he is i'd rather us get someone in permanently rather than develop a player for another club
Fox 4 Life Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Is that the same PVA who plays left back, is great going forward and can't defend for toffee? I wasn't saying PVA is a cb, but out of the 2 I would rather keep him. They both make rookie mistakes but PVA has much more about him going forward and his pace makes up for his poor positioning.
Donut Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 He's more accomplished at DM and not CB. As a DM he's ok, but at CB, he couldn't handle King or Holt to name just two and there's no doubting playing him there cost us at least 5 points. So hes more accomplished playing out of position then? because the Chelsea website lists him as a defender. So he really is shite if he cant play well in his own position.

Must know a thing or two from the players they sign and where they are in the league if you know what I'm saying
topharry123 Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 He looked excellent when playing in midfield, not good enough at center back though. I would have liked to have seen him come back and play in front of the defence for us, he could really have shone there.

The kid is 19, just because he started as a defender in the very few games he has played does not make him a defender, regardless of what is says on a website.

Ohhh no i get it now, yes, world class coaches are obviously not understanding he is a midfielder either then seeing as his Chelsea appearances were at the back and the majority of the ones here were too. He scored two goals from distance against Watford. That was literally it.

He scored two goals from distance against Watford. That was literally it. That's not what I said at all. The world class coaches did not design the website. Maybe he had never played in midfield before and when he came here he played decent in midfield and found his position? It's not as if he's had numerous games as a defender in his career. Just because he is listed as a defender, and claims to be a defender does not make it his best and only position. Granted he did not do a lot for us, but at times he did look like a star, and if Chelsea and the Dutch national team find him good enough to be in their squads, i'm sure he's good enough for us. He just needs a little more time to develop and find his true position, defense or midfield. Maybe if he had played with someone in defense a little better than what we had, or at least made up a consisent partnership with someone we would see what these world class coaches are talking about.

Why would a player claim a position that wasnt his natural one? Yakubu wouldnt claim to be a midfielder would he
topharry123 Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Why would a player claim a position that wasnt his natural one? Yakubu wouldnt claim to be a midfielder would he You're missing the point. I am not saying he is not a defender. He is listed as a defender. His best game for us was playing in midfield when he looked like the player I had heard and got excited about before we signed him. If we signed him and moved him into midfield and forgot about the position that he has played so far, I think he would be a good signing and could really excel in this league.
Nick Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 Eriksson said only loans would be possible for Chelsea pair Bruma and Van Aanholt, who has signed a new four-year contract at Stamford Bridge, and he accepted he may have to wait until a new Chelsea boss is appointed. "I am sure whoever it is will want to see both of them in pre-season," said Eriksson. "They might decide on letting them out on loan for a year. I would take Bruma today if possible but it isn't.
Ric Flair Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 I was under the impression that out of them all, Ben Mee would be the most likely. Interesting. Naughton will have to be signed on a permanent deal, Spurs want to cash in whilst his stock is high.

Think it means that PVA and Bruma definitely won't be available permanently, rather than those being the only ones that will be allowed back.

Stevosevic Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 RobTannerMerc Rob Tanner Had a German journo on saying Bruma set to join Hamburg on loan. Won't please Sven.
jonw88 Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 Hamburg are expected to finalize a two-year loan deal for Chelsea’s young Dutch defender Jeffrey Bruma in the next few days. The deal would give Chelsea the option to recall Bruma after the 2012 season, and gives Hamburg the option to buy Bruma in 2013 should Chelsea decline.... keen on revamping Hamburg’s squad with a core of youth players, and is reportedly also looking at bringing in Patrick van Aaholt and Gael Kakuta from Chelsea. Glad really that he might be going elsewhere, bit too naive at times for us and not entirely suited to the style of play of the championship. PVA might be off there too by all accounts.
shen Posted 26 May 2011 Posted 26 May 2011 Glad really that he might be going elsewhere, bit too naive at times for us and not entirely suited to the style of play of the championship. PVA might be off there too by all accounts. Eurosport.de say Hamburg urgently want to finalise this deal to avoid other clubs finding out about him during the Dutch games against Uruguay and Brazil. So that's Arnesen, whose record speaks for itself, rating him and Sven saying he would have him back in an instant. I might just trust their knowledge on this.
