Eurosport.de say Hamburg urgently want to finalise this deal to avoid other clubs finding out about him during the Dutch games against Uruguay and Brazil. So that's Arnesen, whose record speaks for itself, rating him and Sven saying he would have him back in an instant. I might just trust their knowledge on this.

right. good. they are both off to pastures new. Lets get this thread closed and prepare for the other million players we are going to get linked with...

With Mancienne gone there instead, heres hoping that a deal could be back on!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13606787.stm

Chelsea defender Michael Mancienne has signed a four-year deal with Hamburg for about £1.75m.

The 23-year-old will join his new team-mates after competing for England at the European Under-21 Championship.

Londoner Mancienne has had limited chances at Chelsea but he now joins Blues former technical director Frank Arnesen at the German club.

"Hamburg are a big club with a lot of tradition and some fantastic fans," Mancienne said.

"It's a big challenge for me to be able to play for this club. It would be great if I could play a part in helping Hamburg get back into Europe."

Londoner Mancienne joined Chelsea as a schoolboy but made only six senior appearances before he was loaned out to Wolves.

He spent three spells at Molineux, including the past two seasons, and also had two periods at QPR.

But his lack of top-level experience has not put off Arnesen, who has wasted little time raiding his old club since joining Hamburg as their new sporting director.

"I know Michael from Chelsea and have followed his development for years," said Arnesen. "I am aware of his great potential."

The deal has been sanctioned with Chelsea still looking for a new manager since they sacked Carlo Ancelotti on 22 May - the final day of the Premier League season.

Hamburg finished eighth last season in the Bundesliga.

I think Bruma has the ability to become a Chelsea player on the future. I mean the guy has received a cap from the Netherlands, ranked 2nd in the world! But Van Aanholt, he should find a new club, and I think Leicester would be a good choice for him, great manager and prospects. Staying at Chelsea and constantly being loaned out is like dating somebody who says "I don't want to be in a relationship, right now" so what does he want, to be that player who never played for Chelsea and had other clubs pay his wages. Or the opportunity to become part of a side that's being put together by one of the most respected names in football.

As for Bruma, he scored a cracking goal, but it wasn't enough to persuade me. If somebody wants to buy him or Chelsea want to play him that's fine. But if he let us down in the Championship, how will he fare in the Premiership, Bundesliga or Champions League? (well I guess Abramovich needs a BTeam for the league cup :o)

Oh well!

Hamburg sporting director Frank Arnesen will hold talks with Chelsea defender Jeffrey Bruma about a proposed loan move to the Bundesliga side.

The 19-year-old, who made his first-team debut in the Blues' 5-0 win over Blackburn in 2009, had a spell on loan at Leicester Cityearlier this year.

And Arnesen - who worked with the Dutch international during his time as sporting director at Stamford Bridge - is eager to sign the youngster for two seasons.

Arnesen told the club's official website: "Jeffrey Bruma is on duty with the Netherlands actually. Afterwards we will meet and talk about it. We will look each other straight in the eye.

"We will look each other straight in the eye. We will decide what is best for Jeffrey Bruma and Hamburger SV."

"We will decide what is best for Jeffrey Bruma and Hamburger SV."

Hamburg, who will be looking to improve on this season's eighth-placed finish, have already signed another former Chelsea player Michael Mancienne.

Respect

Meanwhile, Arnesen has rejected reports Ivory Coast International Guy Demel will be staying on at the club, announcing that the former Arsenal player would be allowed to leave if the offer is right.

The 29-year old is contracted to the club for two more seasons but was heavily criticised for his performance by coach Michael Oenning at the end of 2010/11.

However, Arnesen remains insistent Demel will be given respect while at the Imtech Arena.

Arnesen added: "Guy Demel is under contract with Hamburger SV for six years overall. He deserves to be fully respected.

"This is what I am doing, I respect his wish to come out for another club and learn living at a new club as well. He told me that in a personal talk. Still we are unable to let him leave on a Bosman as he would like to."

Heard it was only a season loan but I guess we'll see over the next few days.

Looks like he's definitely going to Germany for two full seasons.

My advice to him would be avoid the crouts... sorry I meant sprouts.

Looked brilliant on occasions for us, unfortunately on others he looked a total chump. Shouldn't be too hard for Sven to replace with his contacts and supposed budget.
