orangecity23 Posted 4 June 2011 Posted 4 June 2011 ****ING ANDY TOWNSEND! "Why would Walcott go down in that situation?" Maybe because he'd been fouled, was completely off balance and stumbling over you stupid ****ing twat. Couldn't believe it when I saw Milner starting ahead of Young. Ps. The sooner Townsend ****s of my telly the better. I hate Townsend too, but I think he was implying that it wasn't a dive, as if he could avoid going down, he would have been in on goal. Ergo, he was implying it was a foul. He's still a massive goober though. Also, at Leighton Baines, going from a massive peice of wank control moments before to a brilliant assist.

Ah yeah, makes sense, just sounded to me like he was questioning why he didn't stay on his feet rather than defending him. Still a tosser.
ScouseFox Posted 4 June 2011 Posted 4 June 2011 Superb play from Wilshere, Bent unlucky, keeper did well to smother him.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 4 June 2011 Posted 4 June 2011 That is why I have never ever rated Darren Bent. Not clinical, not international quality really. Yes he does score a lot of Villa, but you need to take these sort of chances when playing for England.
ScouseFox Posted 4 June 2011 Posted 4 June 2011 He missed once, bloody 'ell. He's scored in his last 3 internationals, and he's the closest to a natural "goalscorer" we've got in the country. It's either him or Defoe, and Defoe hasn't played and has only scored about three times all year.
MC Prussian Posted 4 June 2011 Posted 4 June 2011 Dzemaili, Shaqiri, Xhaka, Mehmedi - Albania B on the pitch.
ScouseFox Posted 4 June 2011 Posted 4 June 2011 Not a great result but a good game that. Switzerland aren't as bad as Prussian made out, that's for sure.
Mack Posted 4 June 2011 Posted 4 June 2011 Can anyone explain to me why we are playing qualifying games long after the domestic season is over when we played umpteen pointless friendlies throughout the season itself when we could have been playing this more important game. ****ing stupid.
Webbo Posted 4 June 2011 Posted 4 June 2011 Entertaining game, disappointing result. I was impressed with Wilshire and Baines Can anyone explain to me why we are playing qualifying games long after the domestic season is over when we played umpteen pointless friendlies throughout the season itself when we could have been playing this more important game. ****ing stupid. It's an international weekend.
The Doctor Posted 4 June 2011 Posted 4 June 2011 Can anyone explain to me why we are playing qualifying games long after the domestic season is over when we played umpteen pointless friendlies throughout the season itself when we could have been playing this more important game. ****ing stupid. because england don't get to choose when to play the qualifiers - they're played on the dates UEFA specify.
MC Prussian Posted 4 June 2011 Posted 4 June 2011 Not a great result but a good game that. Switzerland aren't as bad as Prussian made out, that's for sure. Who would've thought Hart would get beaten twice by a free-kick? And I was largely disappointed by the England team today. Wasted half a dozen clear-cut chances and were pretty vulnerable in the back. We're still shit, though. Djourou worst player on the pitch today.

The Swiss midfield looked pretty good, still trying to work out if they are good, or it was because Parker was probably the worst performer out there. And yeah I guess both the goals were a bit fortunate, although both were nicely struck free kicks. Was an entertaining game between two sides who wanted to win.
Bert Posted 4 June 2011 Posted 4 June 2011 Draw was fair. I would've took a point Switzerland so in that sense for me, I'm staying positive even though we should've won. We'll still qualify I'd say. Badly missed Rooney today. James Milner stay out of any future Walls. Oh wait, you did that anyway.
