accessory Posted 12 July 2011 Posted 12 July 2011 As much as people love him and would like to see him play for us, I don't think he'll be able to stay injury free and will always be troubled by injuries. I can remember much the same being said in the mid-90s about your namesake...
The Doctor Posted 12 July 2011 Posted 12 July 2011 http://twitter.com/IanStringerBBC/ Gutted when Sven told us about Tunchev. Has pulled something at the top of his thigh, likely to have it scanned. Could be the end Such a ****ing pessimist that boy, If it's just a pulled muscle then I doubt sven will see that as an inability to remain fit. The main thing I'd expect sven will be watching for will be whether his knees hold up during pre-season since thats where the problems have been.
Soar Fox Posted 12 July 2011 Posted 12 July 2011 I can remember much the same being said in the mid-90s about your namesake... Correct. I just don't think Sven will take the risk of offering him another contract.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 12 July 2011 Posted 12 July 2011 Far too risky. Sorry, but I believe it is bye, bye, Tunch.
bluesbrothers Posted 12 July 2011 Posted 12 July 2011 Right, this is my first post here and comes on a subject I've followed ever since Tunch's first injury. From all the noises coming out of the camp in the past few weeks, Tunch was feeling fitter and fitter by the day. Don't forget Mills is injured too, but he made the bench with Tunch. Here's hoping it is just a muscle pull. If not, I fear the end, but surely the guy deserves something back from the club? For a player to even come back at all from such a horrid injury, even if it was just for one tiny stint in the last 2 games of last season, is inspiring, and I really hope he can build on that and that this is just a minor setback. Sven clearly saw SOMETHING in him to let him into his team in the first place, and to let him come on pre-season where the likes of Neilson, who for what people say was actually one of our best defenders at the start of this season, were left to find new clubs. It was a heartbreaker to see the injuries finish Clemence off, I and all city fans want to see Tunch come back because lets face it - he's a cult hero at Filbert Way, not neccesarilly for his great defending ability which we all know is there, but for his determination to prove himself and get back into the club's plans. That's dedication, and Tunch, you'll be in mine and many other LCFC fans' prayers. Hang in there, Bulgarian soldier!
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 12 July 2011 Posted 12 July 2011 He's just pulled something but because of his record everyone is making a big deal of it. I still want to see Tunchev in the squad

RyanB89 Posted 12 July 2011 Posted 12 July 2011 Shame, hope its not serious but i fear the worst doubt sven will offer a contract now <_<
Petchy Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Well if he offers a contract to fat boy Michael Ball, then Tunchev deserves one!
Bablemikey Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 If there is any doubt whatsoever on fitness a player will not be risked in a pre season exercise so how anyone can determine whether Tunch is done, without having the details of his injury, is beyond me. Stringers tweet does sound ominous, but again, there is no detail so let's just hope he's being a little dramatic.
Jimmy Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 its a pulled or strained thigh, muscle injuries are common in pre-season, and totally unrelated to his previous injury problems, no reason why we can't still offer him a 1 year deal and extend if he's playing week in week out
StarFox Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 I feel sorry for Tunch but I hope this makes way for Ben Mee to potentially sign.
Lcfclee Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Tunchev when u leave turn out the lights and thanks for the memories
accessory Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 I feel sorry for Tunch but I hope this makes way for Ben Mee to potentially sign. A fit Tunchev > Mee..
Jimmy Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 a thigh strain isn't that serious in the 1st place its just Stringer stirring things and everyone panicking just because of who it was
sdb Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 Looks like the Tunch is back in training Sorting out the competition!
Scow Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 Link - OS Eriksson added: ...Tunchev has a small problem, but I think they will both be ready for the first game in Austria."Tunchev trained a little bit today (Sunday) so it doesn't look too bad." Good news!
Collymore Posted 19 July 2011 Posted 19 July 2011 Saw tunch played yesterday. Was he any good? Are you talking to yourself?
funkyrobot Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 Are you talking to yourself? Clearly. he played the whole of the second half I've since found out so hopefully Sven will keep him on!
MC Prussian Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 Just heard it through the grapevine that the club has offered Tunchev a new deal.
Aylestone Fox Posted 24 July 2011 Posted 24 July 2011 I really hope so,...shame he only got 45 under his belt so far,...
