Yojoe36 Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 Sorry if this has already been posted: http://www.theposhfo...php?f=1&t=20320 That's utter bollocks. Yesterday, their fans were going mental yesterday, singing "we hate Leicester", "shit on the Leicester tonight" etc. Even heard some bald "hard" blokes chanting "Town full of Inbreds" Only really sung by Cov.

People from Peterborough (a strange place in the middle of nowhere) telling people from Leicester (one of the most culturally diverse cities in the country) that they're inbred? That's like Nick Griffin calling Nelson Mandela a racist or Graham Norton calling Julio Iglesias gay.
poshinbrizzle Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 Posh fans seem to hate Leicester a lot. I've seen countless car stickers with a Posh fan pissing on a Leicester shirt.. and my friends who support Posh hate us too... It's worth noting I live in Northants. Do you see them as rivals? To the six fingered 'author' starting this thread and living in Northants - complete and utter rubbish. Despite being only 40 miles down the road, Leicester have never been seen as a rival. While you lot take your place around the top table, most of my life has seen us flitting around the bottom two divisions. Our main rivals have and always be Northampton Town - soon to join our second main rival in the Conference, Cambridge United. I thank you.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 As usual you missed the point completely. I was referring to the size of club and following :/ :/ Why did you not say that?

Tommeh Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 What's wrong with that? At least they see us a rival and come and sing that (same as Coventry), as appose to Nottingham Forest who don't - so it is just sections of our fans singing at them with no response. What a tree hugging plank you really are.
foxfanazer Posted 12 December 2011 Posted 12 December 2011 I have enjoyed my last 2 trips to Peterborough, I would class them as rivals no doubt... the A47 derby. Granted its not as big as playing Forest but the next best thing They will hate us even more if we buy Mackell- Smith off them and he bags the winner at there place CMS plays for Brighton or am I missing something?
z-layrex Posted 12 December 2011 Posted 12 December 2011 its cool to hate the big team nearby? Why do any fans hate fans of other clubs? It is a question of belonging, and the human need to have an enemy. This is why football is popular at all. ONE TRIBE! I would agree with this. I feel more deeply about being a Leicester fan than I do about the football we play.

The Cobblers have always been Posh's main bitter rivals, I should know as I lived in Northampton for 32 years and only just upped sticks from there in 2005 for Devon! The rivalry between Cobblers and Posh has been less intensified in recent seasons due to them rarely playing in the same division and the other rather more recent distraction for Cobblers fans, who view MK Dons as their nearest and dearest now (Not!). Cambridge were probably always a non entity to Posh by comparison I thought.....rather like comparing Derby's rivalry to Leicester - whereas Forest are THE enemy! We're only Posh's latest hate club because they are punching above their weight for now so they're targetting rivals who are local and who they consider to be worthy of being their plastic rivals!
