So weird isn't it?

Weird performance from Turki Alalshikh, Tyson, AJ and the presenter.

It's like that Sheik has read about boxing in a book written by teenage children and thinks that what it actually is.

What the **** was he expecting?

AJ clearly still doesn't fancy it even after all that crap

They’ve circled each other for years.

Both are past their best.

You can’t judge Fury in that fight. AJ wasn’t the same post Ruiz really. How will he be after the accident.

Exactly.

They need the WWE style build up to hype it up now to the casual fan.

Both of them are past their prime and other than a pay packet I’d suggest more to lose in terms of reputation.

At onetime, I thought AJ stood s decent chance of beating Fury. Now, they’re different people and Fury is the better boxer.

I’ve had the pleasure of being around AJ for 10 weeks on his training camp for Usyk 2, I’ll tell you all for free he does not fear Fury one bit, He doesn’t like him as a person is where the problem lies. Fury has messed AJ around may times previous so why should AJ now give him his biggest pay check of his career?
My opinion on the fight is Fury doesn’t posses a world class knock out punch, He slaps his “punches” too much and AJ can land with power and it will be goodnight

How often have we heard that about Fury though? The only guy he’s ever lost to is the one that beats him at his own game. The idea that a washed up AJ could get close to a washed up Fury is fantasy to me. Would love to be proved wrong just so we see the fight but it’s not gonna happen is it?

Fights like that one make you hunger for the heavyweight fights of the 70's, 80's and 90's.

This is where Boxing is now unfortunately.

Dont worry you have Tysons brother fighting Eddie Hall ( Ex Worlds Strongest Man ) soon!!!

Nearly comparable to Ali v Spinks or Foreman!!!

I think fights like Tyson Fury v Usyk will be once a decade spectacular the rest  will be Ex Wrestler/ Youtuber/ Influencer  v Over the hill boxer.

We dont realise how lucky we were

Do you consider AJ to be a harder puncher that Deontay Wilder?

the main reason why the attention is still on the aging stars like Fury, AJ, and wilder.. plus chisora… all boxers who are 37+… is  because of the quality of the ‘ up and coming’ fighters, Fury’s opponent, who was so bad it was almost laughable is ranked 5th on a couple of the belts. I mean… if that is the quality of the fighters who will be scrapping for the belts in 2-3 years time I can totally see why they are milking this currants era for everything they can…

I really can see Itauma dominating for years..

Oh and whilst we are at it, Fury is already saying he’s going to retire again if he doesn’t get the Joshua fight…

Taken from Joshua emerging at world level in 2017 I was intrigued by how many chances there was to realistically make this fight with the narrative of a decade in the making. Looking at the timelines I think there is only really one good chance in Summer 2021 to make the fight. Other than that AJ's tendancy to lose at the worst possible time, ruining his bargaining position plus Usyk's emergence and both fighters thinking they could beat him easily and get the upper hand in negotiations are huge spanners in the works. Are there any opportunities I am missing here?

April 2017 - Joshua beats Klitschko, Tyson Fury is really fat and not competing. I can't really recall discussion about AJ vs Fury until after his comeback against Wilder which was the correct path to choose to get a belt.
December 2018 - Fury v Wilder 1 - Bizarre result guarantees a second fight.
June 2019 - AJ shock loss to Anthony Ruiz. Rebuild required to repair image.
Feb 2020 - Fury v Wilder 2. Fury wins title.
Rest of 2020 - COVID, enough said.

Window in Summer 2021. Fury contractually tied to a third Wilder fight. Prob could get out of that if he wants. AJ has avenged loss. This is definitely when the fight should have happened instead of AJ/Usyk 1 which Joshua pursues while Fury is still messing around with a third Wilder fight.

September 2021 - AJ loses a second time, the first of his two losses to Usyk.
October 2021 - Fury finishes pointless Wilder trilogy.
August 2022 - AJ second loss to Usyk. Fury gets wins against Whyte and Chisora due to the only two world level fighters worthwhile being tied together.

Window in Summer 2023 but honestly not realistic with AJ coming off the two losses. Fury doing naff all during this year and Joshua trying to rebuild. Fury vs Usyk was the much more inticing matchup at this point with both undefeated. I don't recall why the usyk fight didn't happen until 2024, was Dubois a mandatory or was it war related?

May and December 2024 - Fury has two losses to Usyk. A rematch was always likely if either man lost.
September 2024 - Another shock loss for AJ, this time to Dubois.

Window in 2025/2026- Both fighters struggling to rebuild after losses. Fury inactive. By this point the combined four Usyk losses really take the shine off but as a result it is probably the first time neither can claim an upper hand in the negotiations so will probably happen. Also worth pointing out AJ's car accident and loss of two friends which could still prevent this happening.

Absolutely Not, He’s easily the most genuine “Famous Person” I’ve been around. Goes out his way to speak to people, Sent a lovely message to a boy I knew struggling with leukaemia. Just a really Well mannered where due to his pure size he didn’t have to be like that, Ain’t many Jo publics gonna be worrying him in that scenario

For the usual miserable bastards in this thread that pop up with AJ or Fury are fighting and claim boxings dead. There's 2 absolute mega fights happening today in Japan and Vegas.

Inoue v Nakatani both unbeaten in 32. Should be a cracker of a fight, Inoue is one of the best boxers alive. Hoping he wins as I want to see that fight with Bam Rodgriguez later this year.

Benevidez v Zurdo in vegas - World title fight between two heavy punching cruiser weights, should be a great scrap.

We've even got a lovely card in England inbetween as well with a british title fight between Bilal Fawaz and Ryan Kelly. The british title fights are rarely dull affairs.
