  1. 1. Should City bid for Shane Long?

    • Yes but no more than £6m
    • Yes but no more than £4m
    • Yes cash and player exchange
    • Only if we fail to land Nicky Maynard
    • Only if another Championship side makes a bid
    • No not a chance

Skysports.com understands Sven Goran Eriksson's ambitious Leicester have bid for Reading striker Shane Long.

Long: Hot property

West Brom, Fulham, Everton, Newcastle and West Ham are all also interested after the 24-year-old scored 28 goals in all competitions last season.

Long has previously admitted West Ham would be something he would have to consider after reports of a £7million bid, but he has also maintained he is happy at Reading.

Leicester, though, are favourites for the Championship title after Eriksson's summer squad remodel.

Eriksson has previously admitted Long is a target, but Leicester have now taken the decision to make an offer and the Swede's summer spending could top £15m as a result.

How much?

How much?

£127 million. For that reading become Leicester B, the reserves play at their ground and Madjeski has to dress as a lady boy for every game.

They still have to a) accept it and b) Long to agree terms. Long way off yet.

Could have already been discussing terms as they had with Mills. Doubt it on this one though.

Let's hope this get wrapped up as quick as the Mills deal.

...and bangs in a hattrick against Cov on Saturday!

I am just not just excited about Long  , but the fact that we have assembled an excellent squad that has every chance of winning the title

If he went to Everton or another Prem side, i can honestly see it being like another Beckford situation, who has hardly set the world alight at Everton. Sign for us, gain another season in the Championship and then go up with us. ;)

Top scorer last season wasn't he?

Credit to Sven for playing the long game - I'm longing to see this lad at the KP

I personally think that's an offer they can't refuse.

It comes down to Sven's choice, I personally would prefer Maynard even if it was for an extra million than Long.

Who do you want to see us sign? Sven's promised a 'big name' so that has to rule out Le Fondre's thread

No, it doesn't come down to Sven's choice. If Bristol won't sell Maynard, then there's nothing Sven (or anyone) can do.

In relation to Joey Barton skysportsnews says one championship club is interested I am guessing this is either us or West Ham

Not us

But in regards to this like many others the price for me is OTT, but a small price to pay if it is the difference between us being a good team and a great team!

Heard from one of my sources that we will confirm a bid of around 7m upfront for Long either today or tomorrow, don't shoot the bullet! :scarf:

Told you that the bid was going to be confirmed today/tomorrow! I'll post any further updates I get! :scarf:
