  1. 1. Should City bid for Shane Long?

    • Yes but no more than £6m
    • Yes but no more than £4m
    • Yes cash and player exchange
    • Only if we fail to land Nicky Maynard
    • Only if another Championship side makes a bid
    • No not a chance

I am truly amazed, at the number of negative posts on this site, during the close season.

Sven has been busy in the transfer market, bringing in the players he feels are right for the club, Now we are hoping to sign Shane Long, and we are off again. Of course he is over priced, but so are all the other top quality players. If you want the best, you have to pay over the odds, and that's the way it is. Cries of "too dear", "not worth the money", and "but surely we can get somebody cheaper", are common. The question is, do we, or do we not, want promotion. The answer is, of course we do. In order to attain that target, then we must spend, to invest, even though we do get ripped off somewhat.

Shane Long is, a quality player, like Matt Mills., and it is good that they have played together. If Long can maintain his quality of last season, assuming he does sign for us, then we will have as a good a side, as the Championship has ever had.

We are so fortunate to have good owners, prepared to invest in us, and not be struggling financially, as we were, not too long ago.

Go on Sven, bring in Long, and pay what you have to. It will be worth it.

I know people have said top players are always overpriced which I strongly disagree with, but when you but so quick the prices are going to go up as they know we will pay it.

If he comes will be more than welcome here and if the board think he's worth it and fires 20+ goals more than worth it, can't help but think what 7.5 mill could buy you though as I have already pointed out hernandez deal for 8 million!

This would be the icing on the cake, lets not get too excited though we might have had a bid accepted but that could alert other potential clubs who were watching him. The other possibiltiy is that he may not want to come to Leicester. Lets just hope that neither of them happen and Matty Mills sells it to him

I just arrived on line after two hours what I have I missed can anyone fill me in please

apparantly bid of 7.5 million accepted with 500,000 in add ons

It's obscene money but whatever. The precedents set by other clubs spending like this aren't good, but I can't do anything but watch a really good player play for our team.

Dear Leicester,

Stop it

Yours sincerely,

Reading Fans

I don't think Sven will listen to you, or even be reading this forum.
