Thracian Posted 16 August 2011 Posted 16 August 2011 Soton winning 5-2 at Ipswich is a surprise. Ipswich are being touted to be up there themselves so that's a great result. Yes, they don't seem to have any intention of defending their way to promotion. They're giving it everything home and away. Six points off the pace plus one for the goal difference makes bleak reading so soon, epecially as we seem to have little alternative but to approach our task more doggedly because we simply don't have the team to rip opponents apart.

Can't wait for your reaction when it all comes good. Give it time. We lost to Reading, a good side who will no-doubt be there or thereabouts. 2 wins this week and we'll probably be top 6.
MC Prussian Posted 16 August 2011 Posted 16 August 2011 If we sign a striker we will be their or their abouts If we don't sign a striker, we're DOOMED.
Narborough_fox Posted 16 August 2011 Posted 16 August 2011 Yes Lallana got 2. Just put him in my team.
Jaspa Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 WHU are ridiculous! Green Faye Cole Nolan Parker Noble O'Brian Unbelievable, really hope something holds them back this year.
Libertine Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Jimmy Bullard apparently been sacked from Hull.
Red Dawn Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 WHU are ridiculous! Green Faye Cole Nolan Parker Noble O'Brian Unbelievable, really hope something holds them back this year. I know they have some seriously talented players, I put a tenner on your lot to win it but I wish I'd picked wet sham now!
Finchy Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Six points behind Derby Derby always seem to start well, come November they fall to pieces. Last season it was us beating them that started the rot.
Super_horns Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 West Ham really should walk it. Faubert, Piquionne and Faye on the bench tonight About ten teams could fill up any of the other two..... We gave a good game up till the West Ham 2nd goal just before half time which killed us off and they had it very easy after half time. Almost as if we gave up which I am sure the better sides won't do. Should go up though...Nolan is probably on more than our entire 1st team squad earn!
Super_horns Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Hope you boys grab a win on Saturday. Afraid not..we're in for a tough long season I think. What's up with Ipswich...thought they might do well but let in 11 goals this week.
J.Lisemore Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Tell you what, I havent heard of half these Peterborough youngsters until today but this is how a TEAM should play. I admire their transfer policy, not spending over the odds for players and picking up a few gems from the smaller clubs.
ajthefox Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 can't believe the P'boro Ipswich score. this division is mad.
Yojoe36 Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Derby are second. So according to my calculations, they will finish 23rd at the end of the season.
Guest Bilo Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 This division is indeed nuts. Those pointing to the fact that we're 8 points behind Derby and Southampton are being premature, they're going to drop points in this division. It's tighter than a nun's chuff here and the league will be won the team that has depth, consistency and is equally at home at either Peterborough or West Ham. Remember, you win nothing for being top in August.
Guest shearfox Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 7-1 Ipswich I thought had made some sound signings and would be up there, shows what can happen in the championship...
Jaspa Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Derby had a good start last season aswell, but faded quickly and couldve dropped. Hope it's the same around though
Guest Bilo Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Derby had a good start last season aswell, but faded quickly and couldve dropped. Hope it's the same around though Dark horses to do well in my opinion, Clough has signed reasonably well. They won't stay where they are but from what I've seen so far, they look more likely to make a play-off push than Forest in my opinion.
Jiggers the Fox Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Can Ipswich recover from that? Gotta say its a bit of a shocker! I know they went down to 9 men at some point, but shifting 7 against Peterborough isn't exactly gonna inspire much confidence!
Bugg Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Ipswich conceded 12 goals in 2 games, not gonna help their goal difference
