Walshy5 Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 I wouldnt get to exited by this guys. Robbie Keane will not come here. He demands even more in wages than what yakubu does and if we wouldnt fork out for yakubu why would we do so for keane?

gazfox9 Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 Of all the strikers we've been linked with, Keane is the one I'd most want here. Natural finisher, great attitude, and to those who reckon he aint got it, don't forget only a season and a half ago he scored 4 in one prem match!
purpleronnie Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 We all know the odds of signing him are tiny, chances are the 2 top strikers we have been linked with will sign elsewhere, I just hope theres someone else out there.

blueredswed Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 Because Everton wanted to keep the yak I think Top would sign a big star! And how many shirts with Kean name can we sell in Thailand? It´s business!!!!! So Welcome Mr Keane to a new inspiration to take us to PREMIERE LEAGUE :scarf:
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 People forget despite not proving himself, this guy signed for Liverpool approx 3 years ago for £20 million. Obviously decent. Just needs to get a good run of games.
Vlad The Impaler Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 Would love this to happen. I can see Svennis pulling it off.
JohnnyB Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 He'll have no problem scoring against Middlesborough and Ipswich then! Have just watched the You Tube highlights of Keane's goal's while on loan to Celtic last season. Judging from the (admittedly limited ) footage, he still looks pretty quick, still appears to have good close control, definitely showed signs of clinical finishing ability and takes a reasonably good penalty. There were some cracking goals amongst that lot. An additional benefit could be that his experience/ability may be useful in improving some of the younger lads such as Martyn Waghorn and Jeffrey Schlupp. I think he would definitely be worth a punt at this level.
Red Dawn Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 Brilliant signing if you get him. If wages are no bother why not?
ParkLane82 Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 What are his wages like anyone have an idea £80K ? He's on 65-70k a week a Spurs.
FRASER Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 keano keano keano keano what a ledgend get sean st ledger to persuede him worth every penny in wages and the fee would feel like christmas if he signed sven is coming to town oh yeah say sven is coming to town in sven :sge: we trust
Happy Fox Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 He's on 65-70k a week a Spurs. Do you think he would be willing to lower them? Do you go on spurscommunity do any of the ITKS on that website have any clue about whether Keane may come to us?

Bob Weasel Fox Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 He's on 65-70k a week a Spurs. jeez not in our league then surely?
Libertine Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 jeez not in our league then surely? Probably not. But we'd probably offer him our maximum in terms of weekly wage, plus a shit load in bonuses for goals, promotion etc.

Do you go on spurscommunity do any of the ITKS on that website have any clue about whether Keane may come to us? I think m8 to get him to drop a leage and the great striker he is we would have to raise them to £75-80k a week wages arent really an issue because we were willing to offer beckham £200k a week so i think £80 would be fine tbh in sven we trust :sge:
Happy Fox Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 Won't he get a pay off from spurs I would imagine that may cover some of his wages?
artursteppe Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 Won't he get a pay off from spurs I would imagine that may cover some of his wages? There will be a purchase price and then his wages. Spurs will have nothing to do with his wages, only the agreed fee that they'll receive. Keane would get a percentage of the transfer fee if he hasn't asked for a transfer, which has nothing to do with us.

Happy Fox Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 Without doubt one of the best strikers we could possibly get, If we pull this off what a genius masterstroke player we have someone with undoubted quality and will be a good role model on the pitch for the likes of young Schlupp

If he's watching...just type the 'safe word'. Keano, then we'll call the authorities on your behalf.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 If he does come, lets hope some of the old Robbie Keane turns up with him or there is going to be some majorly dissapointed people looking at this thread.
Jobyfox Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 I think the world of the Twittering “Inside Man” is suddenly getting very competitive. Any snippet of information doing the rounds has to be tweeted in case it’s right. If Keane to Leicester happens and they’re not on it, they lose their credibility. If Keane to Leicester doesn’t happen they will say: “well it was by no means a done deal”. You will note that many of these tweets now contain the words: “could” or “should” or insert question marks: “Shane Long to sign for Leicester?” or even a little wink: “Maynard for Leicester? I’m not condemning these people as I enjoy reading the rumours. There is generally some truth behind the rumours and it’s a way of finding out who we are interested in before it’s reported in the press. They also find information out to be able to confirm when the rumour becomes genuine negotiation. But the point when negotiation turns to a done deal is something they cannot predict and we “should” take: “Keane should sign for Leicester this week” as complete conjecture? The latest is that he will SUPPOSEDLY be at the Reading game tomorrow. Could someone near the box keep a look out, just in case, and report back? I'm far too far away and am a bit shortsighted!
