Happy Fox Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 What are his wages like anyone have an idea £80K ?
MGLCFC Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 I think Keane would drop to NPC but I think the stumbling block could be his wage demands, as mentioned above. I've no doubt a front line of Nugent and Keane would bag 40+ goals between them
Happy Fox Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 aidbyrne aiden byrne @ @Fourth_Official is this from the same source as sol bamba info? #lcfc 6 hours ago in reply to ↑ @Fourth_Official Fourth Official @aidbyrne same source as Nugent, Pantsil, Fernandes, Johnson, Kasper, Ball, Banton & Sol!
Jobyfox Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 Except him getting Derbyshire wrong, Bamba wrong and others. He has started taking punts going on what the papers are saying, so treat with caution. I think the world of the Twittering “Inside Man” is suddenly getting very competitive. Any snippet of information doing the rounds has to be tweeted in case it’s right. If Keane to Leicester happens and they’re not on it, they lose their credibility. If Keane to Leicester doesn’t happen they will say: “well it was by no means a done deal”. You will note that many of these tweets now contain the words: “could” or “should” or insert question marks: “Shane Long to sign for Leicester?” or even a little wink: “Maynard for Leicester? I’m not condemning these people as I enjoy reading the rumours. There is generally some truth behind the rumours and it’s a way of finding out who we are interested in before it’s reported in the press. They also find information out to be able to confirm when the rumour becomes genuine negotiation. But the point when negotiation turns to a done deal is something they cannot predict and we “should” take: “Keane should sign for Leicester this week” as complete conjecture?
Kingleicester Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 Fourt official is very reliable tbh mate. The only source on twitter with any credibility IMO. Cheers mate

All tweets and rumours should be read with an Australian accent in your mind, that way every sentence automatically becomes a question, or statement of uncertainty.
Len Finsbury Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 Two things after reading this thread: 1. 'Keane can't play as a lone striker'. Do we play that way? Since Sven's arrived, I thought the attacking formation resembled that of 433, that's 3 forwards. We're not playing like Allardyce's Bolton used to with one man literally 'up on his own'. He won't be isolated, he'll have two other forwards up there with him and an excellent midfield behind him. I don't think Sven would be interested in him if he couldn't fit in to his system. We're talking about one of the most experienced football managers around not someone whose got Exeter to the top of the PL on FM11. 2. His age. Cottee was the same age, if not older, when he joined and he's well respected around here. Is it the transfer fee for someone of Keane's age that people are more worried about rather than age alone? Would people be happier if he was on a free? Fortunately for me, I'm not funding this transfer spending spree directly, the owners are, so let them spend what they see fit. Why are people being so protective over someone else's money? The time to worry about his age is when he stops doing his goal celebration..... THEN we'll know he's past it

I read every sentence with an Aussie accent tweet or other wise. Sounds good no matter what, no question, and always a statement of certainty, Mate!!

Stevosevic Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 We may be interested but don't think he will want to come.

Babylon Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 Keane will be far more direct in our side - I still say 20 + Is that in the league or league and cup?
Jobyfox Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 “Leicester should sign Keane” I think we’re definitely interested. I also think we will probably be contacting Spurs to open negotiations. Whether he comes, or not, may be down to what offers he gets from the PL and what package we can offer. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was unveiled this week but, equally, I wouldn’t be surprised if he wasn’t. “Maynard to Leicester not happening” I don’t believe that Leicester have made any more approaches since their last offer was turned down despite 1000’s of comments on discussion forums. I think BCFC have priced him out of our reach or, at least, priced him to a point where the risk is too great. Wow I’ve done all that without any inside information whatsoever, but through logical deduction!

Is that right mate? (with rising inflection) No worries, she'll be right. Well I lived in Sydney for a good while......
Ric Flair Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 If Keane signs then I can definitely see us continuing with the formation we adopted at Cov where we effectively play without any width (4-1-3-2) this could work. We'd be a dangerous counter attacking force with Fernandes sitting deep and getting the ball out quickly to Johnson, Danns, Wellens/King and with the pace of Nugent and Keane it would be a joy to watch. Schlupp will learn a lot from Keane an'all. I would be delighted if this happens. He doesn't 'guarantee' us promotion or 25 goals but he'll bring us the experience in killing teams off under pressure, which we will need throughout the season. He's a natural goal scorer too, can score out of nothing and his international record is very impressive. KEEN.
