Saw this in the Telegraph Sport section this morning. They are claiming a bid will be made within the next 48 hours.

Personally I think this would be a very good signing - he's exactly the sort of striker we need, who has good finishing abilities, good touch and knows where the goal is. My only worry is that I think we'll be paying him far too much...

Robbie Keane would be the best addition we could possibly make in the striker department his experience and nous in putting the ball in the back of the net will pay dividends in gaining that automatic spot

Totally agree with this. 31 is not too old by any stretch, and he is far better than any other target

People who say signing Keane would be too much have a point - however, what price do you put on promotion. The Thai owners have spent in the region of £10 mil in transfers and probably the same in wages. They have only build two thirds of the team - they won't stop until its complete otherwise that would be throwing £20 mil away.

I have just had a very bizarre thing happen to me. I was in the William Hill's on Tottenham Court Rd and no other than William Gallas walked in, sporting a lovely pink polo and some flowers for someone. Anyway, he joined alongside me to look at the racecard for Newbury this afternoon and after giving him the nod as if to say ' I know who you are ' I then asked him about Keane. All Gallas knew was he's definitely off in the next week or so and that we've had representatives from our club down at Tottenham's training and pre-season games a few times in the past few weeks. He did say that Robbie belonged in the PL though.

I'm not pulling anyone's plonker here either. That is unless this Gallas chap was a fake and i've been done up like a kipper like Sven was with the fake sheikh.

Not many fella's can walk into a betting shop holding a bunch of flowers and carry it off with perceived confidence - fair play!

On that West Ham forum this quote is brilliant

All Premiership titles are bought. It just depends whether you do it with Arab money, Russian money or money from Sky and the Champions League. I'm not sure that the TV money way is any more noble than the others.

Right is this going ahead yeah? I've missed the past 12 pages or so, all very exciting it seems. Robbie Keane :trumpet:

He would score 40+ goals if he stayed injury free. This would be nearly on a par with Collymore in regards to how big this would be for our club.

It would be a good thing for schlupp having Keane as role model too as I don't see Nugent as intelligent or mature enough to tutor him, also Howard is too different as a player.

Keane could be the making of Schlupp.

So the DT reckon the move will be permanent

I just pray to Santa Claus that this will happen :santa:

The ball is in Keane's court, Sven seems very confident that he can convince him to come.

Being an Irishman also, I have been craving this signing for some time.

St Ledger gave me a semi but Keano would make me blow my load ;)

If this comes off I might actually implode in upon myself and shrink to a point of infinite density ...

..... oh hang on a mo I'm not Irish!

Are you joking here? 40 goals +. Has anyone ever scored 40 goals + in any league ? Apart from Messi?

Great player and a massive boost for our promotion hopes (if we pull it off or don't get hijacked).

Shirt sales alone will pay back some of his fee. I know I'll be getting his name/number !

Cheers. Amazing if it happens, literally unbelievable.

No joke, with a creative midfield in this league he'd be unplayerable.

We shared the same love for Collymore and i'm unshaken in my belief that he was the most complete striker England has ever seen. I'm in agreement with you again, sir.

If he managed to maintain a five minute conversation without bursting into tears it probably wasn't him

40 goals? lol

Anyway breaking news boys, Keane has signed.....

Look at that rosy-cheeked twat.

Still unsure why there was that one year where nearly everyone on earth bought the first Keane album. Not so interested now, are we?

Ive just had to take Galas out of my dream team because of the riots, i'd have let him know he's enough value to go back in for the double gameweek.
