Burmesefox Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 I thought bamba was MOTM. Mills was excellent and he and Konch teamed up very nicely. Thought peltier was okay but he was way out of position a few times in teh second half and his engine had packed up he just couldn't get back into his own half. maybe I am being harsh as this was Real Madrid but he needs to work on uping his fitness. I love wellens but he was pants. Thought danns was great - all over the field, very energetic and quick to shut down. Danns and Mills will be very very big for us. Kasper was great. Nuggent - loan striker did well but lacked support. thought Abe made some great challenges. This was always going to be a backs to teh wall game so it was no purpsrise we played 4 5 1 (dont give me any of this 4 3 3 crap). Johnson looked not match fit and poor old Waggy - gives us his heart but showed again lack of skill. joward - does what he says on the tin - old fashioned and outdated and good for 10 mins here and there. Loved it when Vassell covered for Konch in teh first half and twinkle toed his way round teh Madrid player. I'm hopeful seeingthat that we will get atomatic spot. we just need a decent striker.
MGLCFC Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Thought Peltier looked one of the fittest players on the pitch, still pushing forward near the end. He was one of the few that lasted 90 minutes. From L1 to Real Madrid, I thought he did an excellent job yesterday.

Corky Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Thoroughly enjoyed the game, we didn't get a morale sapping mauling and acquitted ourselves well. Schmeichel and Bamba stood out for me, Peltier did well but the centre midfield struggled all game. Still, plenty of positives and hopefully we'll start with a win next week.

Jagdinho Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 I really do not see anything wrong with the crowd of non-singers yesterday. Id rather they were there, than at Cov. That game, was a lot of peoples first games to. I was wondering yesterday, i brought my friend along to her first ever Leicester game, its not like she was desperate, i just invited her to her first Leicester game because i thought itd be better going to yesterdays game compared to my first game which was Macclesfield in the cup freezing tuesday night about 5 years ago. Does she count as a glory supporter? I think it would be more embarrising filling on 24k seats against RM than sell-out of maybe a few less loyal fans. Just wanted to have my input and say that it was a good game, we didn't get thrashed and bring on Cov? Lets hope the day-trippers went to yesterdays game and we have loud and proud fans at Cov instead!

As I could see this is Real and our team is league 3 and up .... And we play as good as we could. If there had been 45 minutes more we would have taken them..... Soooo in Sven I trust and in Top Looking forward Saturday and Cov away perhaps we shall bee glad with 0-0 but hoping for 0-3 :scarf:

I thought he looked very shaky until he went off and, with the exception of one lovely long ball to galley, kept on just hoofing it... The injury was ridiculous when he dived his head straight into an outstretched boot!! Fook knows what he was thinking of there? To summarise, he looked like he was trying too hard and was not the cool, composed defender I was expecting to see. Bamba, conversely was superb from start to finish.. Mills the next walshy? Thems big words.... Calm down Matt and shows us what you can do

I dont reckon many defenders will look too composed against them to be fair.

(peltier) 4.when does all the fighting start?? 5.why has that bloke been named after poo?? (kaka) 6. he,s rubbish! (abe) 7. he,s rubbish too! (nugent) 8.he,s a bit fat (johnson) 9.why is it so quiet?? 10 oh look a mexican wave!! 11. i think the goaly is a bit pissed off! (after schmicheal kicked it into the crowd on the 2nd goal) but its his own fault he should of saved it! 12. oh weve scored!!! .....why isnt anybody fighting?? 13. ronaldo your a willy puller!!! she,s coming again apparently !!
