Hollism94 Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 2-2 With Shane Long gone, there will be players fighting to become the new star striker at Reading, and even more just fighting to be in the team. They could be very strong on Saturday. Also, I'd pick King over Wellens, with Gally just behind Schlupp and Nugent.

Basingstoke Fox Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 It's about time we finally beat these bastards!
Guest Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 2-1 City Wellens in for King and I think that's a 3-1 win.
purpleronnie Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Reading always seem to do well against us, I'll go for a 1-1.
mancunianfox Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 700 isn't really that good though is it. Hope we stuff them as revenge for last year, expect us to win this 2-0. I don't think this is our best side but their back four looks a bit slow so we could do with some pace up front to exploit this. Schmeichel Peltier (If fit) Mills Bamba Konchesky Fernandes Wellens King Schlupp Nugent Dyer Bench: Weale, St. Ledger, Danns, Abe, Gallagher
Guest Col city fan Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 That would be my team too except, swap schlupps position with nugent's and wellens for Abe
mattw1 Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 King's absence from the squad on Tuesday could mean Svens got him lined up for start, that or he's getting sold. I'll go 2-1 Leicester with a late Bamba winner. Kasper Pantsil --- Mills ---- Bamba ---- Konchesky Fernandes King ---------------------- Wellens Danns ---- Nugent ------- Gallagher Bench: Weale, SSL, Dyer, Abe, Howard Edit: Double post.

One Arm Babba Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 I'd be surprised if we play both Abe and Fernandes when we are at home. I'd stick with 4-3-3 and play: Kasper Pantsil Bamba Mills Konchesky Wellens Fernandes King Danns Nugent Gallagher Danns taking up vassells position, schlupp getting a run out in 2nd half. I think 2-0 Nugent double.
acooling08 Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Lets not forget that Reading were in the Play Offs last season, and that we marginally scraped past going-no where Cov at the weekend.
Daz93 Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 King's absence from the squad on Tuesday could mean Svens got him lined up for start, that or he's getting sold. Was on the bench for the Wales match vs Australia, which is why he wasn't with the Leicester squad. Like that very much. Danns and Gally aren't touchline players imo, so with them more in the centre it's better. Plus Fernandes is a little less strict defensively than Abe, to give us more attacking options. Nugent to hold the ball up and Schlupp to do all the running. However, I don't think Schlupp will start. He's more likely to be a sub imo. Also; I noticed that there were 6 subs named in the team on Tuesday night. Does that mean they changed the sub numbers from 5 to 6 or was it for the League Cup only?
liamsm Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Only beat these once at the walkers iirc. That don't matter we don't play at the walkers anymore
Topman Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 King's absence from the squad on Tuesday could mean Svens got him lined up for start, that or he's getting sold. King was on international duty that's why he didn't play, maybe Abe won't play because he flew out to Japan mid week
sdb Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 We can't leave McAnuff and Kebe 1 on 1 with our full backs. They'll need good support from CM if we don't play wide men. Touch wood Sven knows/remembers this. He bloody better else we'll drop points for certain.
J.Lisemore Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Definitely feeling a Nugent goal this saturday.
MGLCFC Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 7 subs allowed in cup. Team for me will be Schmeichel Paintsil Mills Bamba Konchelsky Fernades Johnson Danns Wellens King or Gallagher Nugent Subs Weale Abe (long journey to and from Japan) King or Gallagher St Ledger Schlupp or Dyer
