MONreborn Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Sorry should say he has had a medical so a fee must have been agreed and surely that means personal terms are just about sorted if beckford has agreed to a medical?
21st Century Fox Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Phil McNulty BBC If Eriksson persuades Beckford to Leicester he will get goals in Championship. Gets chances - just doesn't take enough for PL. #bbcfootball
adam1 Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Apparently he has signed from dave rennie Questioning the accuracy of this information.
Saxondale Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Anyway, I'm sure I'm right in saying personal terms DO NOT have to be agreed by 11pm, just have the bid accepted by the other club? Player registration has to be in to the Football League by 11pm.
Salieri Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 I know they're skint but would Everton really let Beckford AND the Yak go? Have they signed any strikers?
Joe. Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 I know they're skint but would Everton really let Beckford AND the Yak go? Have they signed any strikers? Signed one today, only young though mind.
lcfcnoely Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Has he travelled to Leicester yet or not? I'm confused
Raw Dykes Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 There's less proven talent in their prime that would come to us though, that's my point. We got 2 highly rated young lads from Chelsea last season and they were gash, we aren't going to get players of Daniel Sturridge's quality, and which Chelsea has been is going to come to us? Just as examples. Your comment made it appear that you think if a player's not good enough for one team, then he's not good enough for any team. This is clearly rubbish! When the PL teams name their 25 man squads, we'll see plenty of realistic loan targets, many of which could do a good job for us at this level. Most of them, granted, are unproven youngsters, or older players who might be "past it" - but only in PL terms - many would still be class at a lower level. And not all players made available for loan are youngsters or elderly has-beens. Some are just not quite good enough to make the 25 best players list at a PL club with a big squad. These players would almost certainly be great at this level. We all know that loan signings can be excellent additions, so to deny this is lunacy.

More often than not, they are out of form or unproven or on the downward spiral. Good point though, with the 25 man squads their will be more of a higher calibre of player available than in previous years. I would prefer a permanent transfer though, especially as we've been linked with Beckford and Maynard.
acooling08 Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Leicester City have had a bid in excess of £4m accepted by Everton for striker Jermaine Beckford, according to reports. Source
Happy Fox Posted 31 August 2011 Author Posted 31 August 2011 aldo_slp Alex Aldridge Hearing Jermaine Beckford is at #lcfc now for talks so if that goes through, as it should, Waghorn will go to Hull and Simpson to #Millwall.
cc_star Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 I know they're skint but would Everton really let Beckford AND the Yak go? Have they signed any strikers? Yak is surplus, therefore losing him is irrelevant to them Beckford would need replacing though, which it looks like they have

There really is no need to panic, though. We'll still have plenty of time to find a good loan signing or two, even if we go home empty handed at the end of today's window.
Joe. Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Let's be honest, for all the gloom surrounding today, signing Beckford would not make this an unsuccessful 24 hours.
joeybside Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Rumours of Royston Drenthe at Everton. Add this and the Argentinian together, some funds must have come from somewhere e.g Yakubu and Beckford leaving. I think it's this is nailed on
Salieri Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Yak is surplus, therefore losing him is irrelevant to them Beckford would need replacing though, which it looks like they have Obviously it seems he is, but it's baffling that they would let him and Beckford go. Who have they got left up front?
zubi Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Obviously it seems he is, but it's baffling that they would let him and Beckford go. Who have they got left up front? The mighty Anichebe!

Austin Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 If he signs ill Edit: yeah, thats right .. i'll post this icon if he does!
Joe. Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Agreed. Cracking signing if we get him. If it is just him then so be it, i'm not greedy. Striker is priority, and Beckford is a good one. Wingers would be a big bonus, but right now a day of complete nothingness would be the biggest disaster. Hoping this one goes through now, will ease many of the fears most people seem to have on here.
