Chazwaz Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 £4M, bit much? Not at all, better value for money than Maynard.
@mrtonycox Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Last day, everyone knows we got cash and need someone.. If he does well though.. priceless
Jimbo Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Am i being greedy wanting Jelavic, as well as Beckford and Kebe? If you are being greedy then I am too. Would love all 3 of these and I'd certainly be a happy chap if we did get them Just hope that Beckford isn't the only one to come (IF he decides to accpet our terms) because I think we need a tricky, pacey wide man. If I was Sven the first player I'd have gone in for would have been Kebe
Jobyfox Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Out of all the rumours this is the one that I considered to be the least likely. Why would a player who is getting PL football drop down to us? I suppose it’s still far from certain that he’ll agree personal terms, but I’d be pleasantly surprised if we pull this off; so much so I might treat myself to one too!
Ric Flair Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Let's not start celebrating just yet. Beckford is a fookin LAD and he'll want a right load of dough and will probably blank Andrew Neville and expect Sven to meet him up Sam's Chicken. If a PL club comes in I expect him to want to go there first. But at least we're in to stage two of our striker situation.
lcfcsnow Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Has been a great player for Leeds and did well at Everton the only thing that concerns me is his attitude, bit of a hot head isn't he?
Stevosevic Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Incredible league 1 record and had a solid season in the Premiership, finishing Everton's top scorer with 10 goals. Will be very effective in the Championship.
Father Ted Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 £4M, bit much? An absolute steal when you consider we've been linked with Maynard for £6.5m and Jelavic for £8m and Beckford is twice the player these two are imo.
Saxondale Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 He's going to be awkward about it, lets face it. Personal terms are going to be difficult to agree as he'll want a Prem club to come in for him. Well, if he's going to be awkward, he hasn't got much time to frig about.
Ric Flair Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 An absolute steal when you consider we've been linked with Maynard for £6.5m and Jelavic for £8m and Beckford is twice the player these two are imo. The only thing Maynard has over Beckford is he's 4 years younger but he's not done enough to warrant a £6.5 million price tag. Jelavic is quality and I think he'll move to a top European/English team in the next year and take bodies. I'd be delighted with Beckford though for the price quoted and if we can get Kebe for £4 million and receive the reported £1.5 million for Gradel from the sell-on clause then we'll have got out of the deadline day lightly in terms of squiller rinsed.
Saladin Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 An absolute steal when you consider we've been linked with Maynard for £6.5m and Jelavic for £8m and Beckford is twice the player these two are imo. hmm, still, he's got to agree personal terms, might be a stumbling block IMO
eye666 Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Sign him up and let's go focus on spunking some more cash on Jelavic and Kebe.
Saxondale Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 If Everton want the money in (ie. to buy somebody else, as suggested on SSN), they may give the player a nudge and 'advise' him to accept terms with us.
bluesbrothers Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Beckford > Maynard every day. Awesome signing if it goes through! Dropping down won't matter, Everton look like a club in freefall and worth a punt for relegation. So who knows, we might have swapped divisions with them by next august.
Happy Fox Posted 31 August 2011 Author Posted 31 August 2011 I would love us to get Jelavic as well and Kebe, but if do get another striker I fear it may not be Jelavic
Fox1651 Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Beckford > Maynard every day. Awesome signing if it goes through! Dropping down won't matter, Everton look like a club in freefall and worth a punt for relegation. So who knows, we might have swapped divisions with them by next august. no wrong on both matters, Maynard is a better bet IMO than Beckford, and Everton wont go down in a million years
Dabizas Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 how old is this gu? After watching him, and not many others linked with can say I'm very pleased with this, think he would do a great job in the champ, surely personal terms won't be a problem, just the step down!
Saxondale Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 I really don't understand Everton these days. Are they skint or something?
