Guest Basildon Fox Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 To be fair when has he ever played up front? Look at Schlupp, when in his natural position of striker he's been excellent. When shoved onto the wing he's been average at best. It's a shame it's taken this long to go two up front, because Waghorn may have had a chance to show what he can do again. But any half decent striker would more often than not hit the target. His finishing is absolutely awful. I think half the problem is that he did not want to leave Sunderland in the first place.
Jacnah Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 And when will fans realise that when a 4billion pound company owns you, it is highly unlikely youll go into financial meltdown err...happens fairly regularly actually if the subsidiary is a liability and/or not producing the expected and required financial return. Its just a prudent commercial decision to strip assets and sell whats left or try and move things on and obtain some return or lessen your own losses. Not saying anything about our own position or our current owners; just pointing out the hard, bottom line, truth from the owning companies perspective
Hinckleyfox Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 1 This is a view from a Hull fan!!! Posted 29 Aug 2011 05:22 Sven the master The man is a totally incompetant idiot and I can't believe that them idiots in charge of Leicester are backing him. They are ready to loan us Waghorn who is a perfectly good championship striker and give him 6.5 million to spend on a replacement for him that really is'nt worth anywhere near that. The foxes gave 3 million for Waggy and have'nt really played him and he is still a young kid! It's madness and I would love to see Leicester miss out on promotion this season go into meltdown and lose their league status. They are whats wrong with football today driving up prices for transfers and wages and ticket prices, you go Sven and spend 10 million this week you football genius and when you fail miserable again like you did at Man City then toddle off back and be the manager of Nigeria or whatever country will believe your BS next time although if you mess this one up you will be lucky to get a job coaching Fiji. 6.5 million for a striker Nicky Maynard to get you promoted from the second division to the prem oh yeah he's a footballing genius is our Sven Firstly, when at Man City Sven did a great job and was harshly sacked after finishing 5th in prem league (narrowly missing out on CL) in the first season of them having any real money. Even here, whilst he has spent when he has needed to (Matt Mills and poss Nicky Maynard) he has also signed some belters. nugent on a free, danns on a free, schmeichal 1.2m, fernandes season loan, konchesky 1.5m ? And how much did you overpay on Jimmy Bullard? Secondly, Waghorn has been garbage since he signed for us permanently, think the bloke has great attitude but his finishing has been horrendous so why on earth would Sven play him? Thirdly - whats wrong with football my friend is people like you. You think its ok to slag off other teams because they have attracted some investment. If hull had the money we have I very much doubt you would have these views. Also, dont tell me that if we were interested in one of your players (and there is a reason we are not!), your chairman wouldnt add about 3 mill to the asking price 'because its leicester' (exactly the same as what Roy Keane did when we wanted to sign Marton Fulop) Finally - Lets have this conversation again at the end of the season to see if the money we have spent has been wasted. Personally i think all of your views are the result of sour grapes.

Who ever that Hull fan was, from whatever site it was taken, They need to remember they have spent alot of mpney on forwards themselves, Macclean- 1.3 million Fryatt- Fee rising to 1.6 million Simpson- 1.2 million Waghorn- poss with fee rising to 2 million Possible total= £6.1 million They have hardly been the championship paupers have they.........

Thracian Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 Even at one goal in four matches from what has always been a patchy experience since he signed, Waghorn has shown that he has potential. Waghorn has had odd games but never a consistent run in the team and Babs makes the relevent point that he's often been played out of position. Waghorn needs to improve in various ways and didn't help his case with some wasteful finishing when chances did come along. But his departure still seems premature because we haven't got Maynard yet (he was subbed on 75 minutes against Doncaster and someone said he might have sustained an injury) and Nugent looks like being out for at least three weeks if he's got a hamstring tear. So it looks like we'll be woefully short in the striker department and even more desperate for proper cover with Schlupp being the only other specialist we have.

Personally i think all of your views are the result of sour grapes. Good post. The guy said that Sven bombed at Man City, but he actually took them to their best ever points total in the top division at that time, hardly a failure! Agree about Waghorn too. Best attitude I remember at our club he's been a model pro, just hasn't cut it on the pitch since he resigned. Out of position or not, other players play out of position and show that they can be a great player still, but Waghorn unfortunately hasn't done that. You're third point comes down to jealousy. Other fans are jealous that their team hasn't had the same level of investment as we have so people now hate us and want to see us fail because we're trying to "buy" the title. What they don't realize is that to be successful in any business you need to invest money. If you don't the business will fail, simple.

So much for 2 players for evey position !!. There seems so much wrong with Svens management, from tactics, formations, the players bought, lack of for sight, where are the players we were supposed to be getting from Sven's word wide contacts ? All we have done as a club is buy standard o.k. championship players. Sven just seems to be going through the motions, dithering, not really knowing whats going on around him. I can see a number of proven championship managers that would come in and do a whole lot better. (Not Happy At All)..

topharry123 Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 erm, sven finished 9th at the citizens, but what the eck yeah but 9th was their highest ever points total EVER at the time. If doing a bad job is taking you further than ever before in your existence then there is not a good manager out there.

As of right now, we have four strikers in our squad - Nugent, Gallagher, Vassell and Schlupp. That's two players for every position (provided we play 4-4-2). Howard's possibly leaving before the transfer window closes as well (on loan?). Oh, and then there's Leon Crncic - our secret weapon.

Were not really in for Maynard/Yakubu/Beckford at all, Sven is simply waiting for the transfer window to close before unleashing Crncic on the league, thus ensuring his 30 goals that fire us to promotion didn't lead to him being snapped up by a premier league side before wednesday!

1994fox Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 BertLcfc LcfcInfoMan Martyn Waghorn will be joining Hull on a 6 month loan deal. #lcfc #hcafc
HEGGSY Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 6 month loan...weird I thought it was permo 6 month loan...weird I thought it was permo
nothin2seehere Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 Nigel Pearson's Hulleicester. Best of luck to Waggy, hope he does well but not too well
Jimmy Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 they probably can't pay the fee or Sven still thinks Waggy might come good but needs games
the_foxes_till_i_die Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 Cant believe we can even consider letting him go hull! If we were going to loan him then i would have just loaned him till xmas to lower opposition in the Championship. Atleast if he get good time and plays well we will take him back
Jaspa Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 Intresting Maybe he does have a future with us Or Hull are broke Hmmmmmmm
Jimmy Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 Cant believe we can even consider letting him go hull! If we were going to loan him then i would have just loaned him till xmas to lower opposition in the Championship that's basically what we've done
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 If he has a good spell at Hull I think they will buy him, loaned Hobbs then got him. Is Pearson just slowly building up his former Leicester team?
StarFox Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 MARTYN WAGHORN IS A BLUE, IS A BLUE, IS A BLUE!!!
