Danno Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 If you could change the score of ANY leicester match in history, what would it be and why?
Salieri Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 Suppose it would have to be the game against Stoke that saw us go down to the third tier for the first time in our history.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 Possibly a game towards the end of the 1928/29 season.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 Possibly a game towards the end of the 1928/29 season. This. Or maybe an FA cup final too.
James. Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 Possibly a game towards the end of the 1928/29 season. 1928/29 season That's a good read... 5 swans flying over the stadium! Quality.
Swampdog Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 Cardiff playoff game so we win and i get to go to watch leciester at wembley in the final
RumbleFox Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 1928/29 season That's a good read... 5 swans flying over the stadium! Quality. Can you imagine this now? Two strikers with over 30 goals and one over 15? Dare I dream we may challenge like this again? COME ON YOU FOXES I FVCKING LOVE YOU!!! X
irDeano Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 Suppose it would have to be the game against Stoke that saw us go down to the third tier for the first time in our history. Am I the only one that wouldn't change this? Our League One season gave us a chance to rebuild after many many below average seasons in the Championship. I actually think it did us good! Personally I'd say the Cardiff semi final because, as mentioned above, it would've given me the chance to see Leicester at Wembley!
HEGGSY Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 Cardiff PO sf 2nd leg Wycombe Fa Cup game Stoke away the day we were relegated
accessory Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 One of the FA Cup finals. Each year that passes makes it harder for us to reach another one.
Brainy Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 Changing the result of the Stoke game would probably have meant more seasons of Championship mediocrity. Cardiff game all day long for me.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 I'd rather have a major trophy than another play-off final. If you got to change one result from history it'd have to be either the second game with Sheff Wed in 28/29 or one of the FA Cup finals surely? Of the cup finals, I'd probably pick 1963 with 1961 a close second.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 Am I the only one that wouldn't change this? Our League One season gave us a chance to rebuild after many many below average seasons in the Championship. I actually think it did us good! Personally I'd say the Cardiff semi final because, as mentioned above, it would've given me the chance to see Leicester at Wembley! Completely agree. We had to take a step backwards and a season in League 1 has hardly hurt us has it? And I'd change the score from Cardiff away. The fact the linesman didn't see that the Baadiff player was offside before Bruce tripped him giving away that penalty still angers me. Any other club than Leicester then the press would've made something of that
HEGGSY Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 Changing the result of the Stoke game would probably have meant more seasons of Championship mediocrity. Cardiff game all day long for me. I agree to a certain extent, in terms of how many including myself can argue that without the relegation we wouldn't be in the position we are in today, after winning the league and then the play off season straight after I realised that relegation was more of a blessing in disguise, however the reason I put the Stoke game was because I have never felt more gutted as I did when the final whistle blew
Dan Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 One of the FA Cup final losses, absolutely no doubt at all.
Kitchandro Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 One of the FA Cup finals. Each year that passes makes it harder for us to reach another one. This
Guest MattP Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 Can't believe some of the answers here, Cardiff in a play off? One of the FA cup finals or just one result to give us the League in the 1928/29 season for me, we can never really be considered a great club until you have won the league or the FA cup. It makes me sad that I am 95% certain neither are going to happen in my lifetime.
Guest Col city fan Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 Swindon 4-3 play off final 4-3 the other way and WE were given a dodgy late penno.. That would have better
iancognito Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 The '61 cup final to give us the fame of being the side who stopped Spurs doing the double that year and also end the whole only-club-with-four-finals-&-no-wins stuff. The Stoke game would be a close second because I don't agree that relegation itself did us that much good. We narrowly missed out on relegation to the third tier at the start of the 90s and rebuilt into a decent, successful team under Brian Little without having to spend a year with the dead men. We'd have probably still taken on Pearson and had a good stab at the Championship, if not a transitional season, instead of League One anyway.
martyn Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 I'll go with the swindon 4-3 play off final. Would have been absolute mayhem had we completed our comeback in such a brilliant game.
