Fox 4 Life Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Why would you jump from 6.5 to 8 that's just bad negotiating!
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Why would you jump from 6.5 to 8 that's just bad negotiating! September 1 deadline
Guest Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 depends om exactly how big a no rangers gave presumably?
MC Prussian Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 I still think we're only bidding for Jelavic to force the Maynard move. Reminds me of some kind of a diversion maneuver.
Guest Bilo Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Fourth Official reporting they're trying to get El-Hadji Diouf back so this could affect Jelavic.
Jacnah Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Who was that other lad that scored goals for fun in the SPL, he only did well in Scotland because it's so shit, though, that's for sure, he'd be gash in any other league.... NOT EVERYONE THAT SCORES GOALS NORTH OF THE BORDER IS OF KENNY MILLER / KRIS BOYD STANDARD. cant argue with this, but he's the exception to the rule rather than the tip of a sensational striker iceberg
MGLCFC Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Whilst Jelavic plays for Rangers, he's hardly a Scottish striker and his stats suggests he's done well for most clubs. He would certainly be very technically gifted - I just hope that this isn't too big a gamble (although reportedly Man U were interested before he went to Rangers so he must have shown some promise!)
Happy Fox Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Luke Shanley SSN reporter up in Scotland, says he expects us to make an improved offer for Jelavic
bluearmyfox23 Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Jelavic 8m, Kebe 4m, Townsend loan, the yak loan tht would be a quality deadline day !
crazylegs1984 Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 i have alot of family in glasgow and they are devasted he is leaving. my uncle who is a die hard rangers fan says he is too good for rangers and the fact they havnt secured europe this season means they have nothing to offer the striker apart from the spl which isnt great. lets be honest so Jelavic would be very interested in the move down south. oh by the way my uncle is backroom staff at rangers
tyneside fox Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Would be a cracking signing, seems like a natural goal scorer .
crazylegs1984 Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 just spoke to my uncle david and apparently he says the bid will be accepted !!!!! looks like we could be smashing our transfer record
crazylegs1984 Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 I want this lad so bad. its happening mark my words quite excited myself
purpleronnie Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Have to say I just think were trying to punch above our weight with these attempts, I understand we want a top player but at this rate we'll have no-one (think of how many top players have been targeted but never came) I think maybe more realistic bids should be considered (maybe they are?). But like everyone else I can't help but feel excited about being linked to these players and willing them to happen.
Ric Flair Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 If any of you are wondering what lengths i'll go to to humiliate myself after my outlandish remarks about Gelson Fernandes then be very worried. I'll have my ribs removed so I could sniff my own chuff.

Guest Bilo Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Jelavic knows he could be playing Premiership football with us in twelve months. Even if we fail to get promoted and he does well, Shane Long shows the Championship is an excellent league to get yourself noticed. Ordinarily, the SPL players can rely on European football to put themselves out there but without that this season they're relying on scouts pitching up at Motherwell and Stm Johnstone.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Here's hoping this move will bring an end to the allegations of impulse buying and desperation being levelled at Sven. Kept this one tucked neatly under his hat til the last minute to minimise the chance of **** ups and it sounds like the guy has been thoroughly scouted. From what little I've seen of him and the montage clips people have posted the boy looks ideal both in terms of his finishing ability and the fact that he is a strapping 6 foot twoer. In my opinion we could really do with a viable big front man (sorry Steve) particularly given Matty Mill's penchant for the long ball and all things considered this guy seems a better option than even Maynard. If Sven pulls this one off I'm sure he'll regret his decision not to hand in a transfer request at Bristol City. Oh and by the way..**** the money! Not our place to worry about it. Sven and the Thai's know what they can and can't afford and you don't amass a 100 million pound fortune by pissing away your cash on keeping up appearances. Besides players are assets, stock if you like. It's not like you are kissing your money goodbye forever when you make a signing, you are making a medium-term investment based on your assessment of the available information and a combination of your ability (and I believe in Sven's) and the ineveitable exposure to risk determines the eventual return (goals scored + eventual resale amount). Speculate to Accumulate! Really hope we land this guy!
FRASER Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 said to be that were going back in £8mil transfer record !!!!
somebum Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Nice to see his agent joining us to whip up some PR, no doubt he'll get a cut. Can't believe you lot fall for it tbh.

You are possibly the most pessimistic poster I have ever seen, you go on and on about sven's supposed incompetence and call every target shit - get a new tune or **** off. Edit: And with modern transfer prices, 8 mill for this lad would be an absolute steal.

If everyone ignores him he'll be off like ibbosuk, problem solved. On a lighter note, rumours are increasing that Rangers are set to let Jelavic go and have been linked with Snodgrass and Diouf.
