acooling08 Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 I've only seen Peltier twice (Cov, Brighton) but I've been really impressed by him and can see that he has the potential to be as good as Kyle Naughton. He is solid defensively, quick, strong, eager to support the attacks and in the 2 games I've seen him he has scored (if not for today's Ref). I don't want to get too carried away because he's only been here a short while but I think that he is already far superior to Pantsil and will have a bright future with us, if he can get past his little run of injuries. I hope he holds his position now (if fit). One of Sven's low profile signings, but looking to be a bloody good one
thybluefox Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 He was quality today. Rest him for Wednesday but for me he has to start against Cardiff at the w/e. Bags of potential.
Austin Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 Impressed with him. Can only get better! Hope he's in the team ahead of Pantsil anyway
Fox92 Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 Why do we have to compare to Naughton? Are we going to do this forever? Naughton did a job and has now left. I have full confidence in Peltier, I think he is a fantastic player and he will become a top class right back for us.
dannythefox Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 Look a quality player he'll do well here i think but there's only one Kyle Naughton!
Ozwin Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 He's good but I wouldn't say he's too eager to help out in attack, he's a much more defensive minded player than I expected.
Corky Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 Harsh to compare them directly, one has come from Huddersfield, the other Tottenham. If he plays like he did today regularly then he'll be fine.
Lambert09 Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 He seems better defensively then Naughton. His touch seems incredible, did he even loose the ball today? I liked the way when he got forward he varied his aproach rather then constantly taking on his man
foxoffderby Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 When he came off yesterday he was holding his hamstring
Fox96 Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 Said this when he joined Everyone needs to stop comparing him to Naughton though, he was never going to come back and there is no point judging Peltier on Naughtons ability. When he came off yesterday he was holding his hamstring Yeah, i noticed this. Hopefully it won't be too bad.
Fox92 Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 Wish that goal would have stood. Would that have been 2 on 2 for our right back? Way better than Pantsil.
Master Fox Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 He's not bad but he's no Naughton. He's not bad but he's no Alan Rodgers
Kent Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 I think he's older than you would think considering he's 25 in a few months but he seems good, I really can't decide who I'd start between him and Pants. Not a bad problem to have though!
panky and our gang Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 Well if Mills has been the big disappointment of the signings Peltier has been outstanding in the two matches I have seen him in . He was bought as a back up to Pantsil but he is on those two showings head and shoulders above Pantsil . If he remains injury free I think he will be a key player for us this season .

HEGGSY Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 I would also stick with peltier to be honest...at this moment in time anyway

Not a bad problem to have though! I'll decide.. Peltier. Pantisl cannot defend in my opinion, although he shows passion, he's dodgy.
Bob Farley Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 Why do we have to compare to Naughton? Are we going to do this forever? Naughton did a job and has now left. I have full confidence in Peltier, I think he is a fantastic player and he will become a top class right back for us. he's no Frank sinclair though
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 20 September 2011 Posted 20 September 2011 Why do we have to compare to Naughton? Because they're both right-backs and Peltier is pretty much his direct replacement maybe? It'd be ridiculous not to compare the pair of them.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 20 September 2011 Posted 20 September 2011 Because they're both right-backs and Peltier is pretty much his direct replacement maybe? It'd be ridiculous not to compare the pair of them. And both sort of look similar
bluebeau Posted 20 September 2011 Posted 20 September 2011 I was very pleased when the announcer at the game read out Peltiers name. IMO he is a better right back than Pantsil, although they are both quality in this division. I would start Peltier ahead of Pantsil, but maybe play Pantsil tomorrow in Cup game. By the way, Peltier was not injured when he was taken off against Brighton. I heard him interviewed on Radio Leicester (real scouser accent), & he said he came off 'cos he was suffering from cramp & he put this down to lack of games played. In Sven we trust.

Yes I know where your coming from there, but if Peliter does something wrong, someone is bound to say 'If that was Naughton, he would have...'
