Kitchandro Posted 20 September 2011 Posted 20 September 2011 Best centre back in the league on his day, he is inconsistent though hence why some people are critical of him. His good outweighs the bad though and he's the best defender we've got. I've never seen a player get the crowd going like him either, it's a brilliant atmosphere when he robs a striker then skins him and the crowd start chanting that great chant.
leicesterseddon Posted 20 September 2011 Posted 20 September 2011 When he arrived last season, I can honestly say I'd never seen a professional footballer who looked less comfortable with the ball at his feet (with the possible exception of Junior Lewis). However, I have to say that this season he's been one of our best players. I still think that there's probably a huge cock-up looming just around the corner, but for the moment he's been invaluable. If there really are other clubs sniffing around, then I suppose it's only right he gets the same whack as his team-mates...
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 He pumps it back in to the local economy anyway. Loves a bit of the old Platinum Lace, the cheeky scoundrel.
Guest MattP Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 He pumps it back in to the local economy anyway. Loves a bit of the old Platinum Lace, the cheeky scoundrel. Was in diamonds last friday He was superb sat, Ive been a critic but that's exactly how I want to see him, take a man, control him for the game and dont try to do anything daft. Performs like that every game we are all onto a winner.
m00nie Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 The Club should wait until we know what league we're going to be in come May before they start dishing out contracts like there's no tomorrow, if we are promoted next year he may become surplus to requirements. the guy has been great this season and has already attracted interest from a premiership team.. if the 3k per week figures were right before could easily improve his contract and not break the bank so dont see much wrong in it myself.
Happy Fox Posted 21 September 2011 Author Posted 21 September 2011 http://www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~2457252,00.html Leicester City are delighted to announce that defender Sol Bamba has agreed an extension to his contract, keeping him with the Club until June 2014.
burni Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Hes just purchased a 4x4 new merc (family friend who works in there). Most likely due to his new handsome weekly wod payment.
Houdini Logic Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Hes just purchased a 4x4 new merc (family friend who works in there). Most likely due to his new handsome weekly wod payment. Fair play - I would
burni Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Fair play - I would Too right, hearing what we could be paying other players.... its only fair one of our stronger performers is also payed more.
Ric Flair Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Let's hope his performances don't tail off now like Fryatt's and Wellens did after new, bumper deals. His performance on Saturday against a very good striker in CMS though shows that the boy has ability there and if he can polish up on his concentration lapses then he'll be a beast of a player for us. Pace and the ability to pass as a centre half is priceless.
tomtom Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Surprising. Why are you surprised mate?....I'm sure you'll agree he deserves parity in pay with some of the other key players
davieG Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 I think many, including myself assumed he'd signed a 3 year contract in January taking him up to January 2014 anyway, I suspect this is mainly a pay rise and an extension to June 2014.

lcfcsnow Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 That explains his improved performances then.
tomtom Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Why is that funny? I respect your opinion so was asking why you were surprised he was being given a pay rise,... you may of taken some stick on here recently but not by me, so again why are you surprised?

kingfox Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 He makes football look amusing, he is a quality defender and i'm really happy by this news. Been our best defender by far this season, hasn't put in a bad performance yet either. If it wasn't for him, god knows how many goals we might of conceded.
tomtom Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 because he posted this on twitter 2 days ago and people are acting like its a big revelation Ok , cheers for the explanation! I didn't think it was ground breaking news as it'd been on the cards for a while I just misunderstood his post
SuperScout Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 I just hope that we don't later come to regret this.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 I just hope that we don't later come to regret this. surely that's the case for everything you have ever said or done?
SuperScout Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 surely that's the case for everything you have ever said or done? He's never played at the top level before, Paris Saint-Germain let him go when he was 21, if he was capable of competing at that level, they wouldn't have done that.

Martin O'neill let Gary Cahill leave villa at around the same age, he's now an England international....managers make mistakes in judgements
