Guest shearfox Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Losing on penos is always difficult to take.
Guest Col city fan Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Pick a stronger team and risk getting key players injured for a shitty carling cup 3rd round match in front of 8,000. I'd much rather have our players fit and not knackered/injured so we can concentrate on the league. What are people in football for? generally to win trophies. Do you think any of us under MON gave a fook that the trophy we won was the league cup? It still meant wembley, big scalps, cup runs etc etc.. Great times. Yep, I'd have rather risked one or two better players tonight and stayed in the competition. Don't be such a pussy and try to win every match you play in!!
21st Century Fox Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Would you have (extremely hypothetically) gone to Wembley? Possibly but I'd rather being going to The Emirates, Anfield and the like next season instead. We can put all our focus onto the League now.
Collymore Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 I know there's been a lot of people Joking about young tonight but he really wasn't all there tonight. I hope he's alright.
easilee Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Losing on penis is always difficult to take. Maybe you're just too ugly.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Off the top of my head he also saved a penalty from Arca at the Riverside last year. Yes you are right, but wasnt that poor and down the middle? Look I dont hate Weale, always liked him actually, but it cant be argued that he isnt a good penalty keeper. He didnt even get near a penalty by the sound of it, he generally cat dive across far enough. Just a shame we didnt have Henderson in goal, he was the penalty king.
Petchy Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 its called emotion mate...dont think anyone is in a rage, we just sat through over two hours of football mostly dominated by leicester and then lost on spot kicks! people have a right to be a bit gutted, we are all passionate about our team?!?!... But I think some of us need to put things into perspective and prioritise what we want from this season. Yes, everyone would have liked a nice trip to Wembley, but to actually get angry over a game where it was quite obvious we were more focused on getting game time for our reserve players than fielding a cup winning XI is bordering on silly.
NorthernFox Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 I know there's been a lot of people Joking about young tonight but he really wasn't all there tonight. I hope he's alright. i know what you mean, as well as the normal Lee Danns, there was Lee Pantsil, and quite a few others. Too much whiskey methinks
Collymore Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Disappointing for it to come to an end so soon, it was always going to be penalties though. A good run out for the fringe players who have given Sven a headache, no doubt. (Thoughts in full) Bring on Sunday when we roll out the big guns! Were you at the game? Why is Steve Howard called frankie?
Number 6 Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 At least the scoring in League Cup fixtures stat is extended by 11 months
Guest Col city fan Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Sven did right - Sunday's game is far more important than this and we know that If that's your 'glass is half empty' outlook on life then you better hope we do win on Sunday or it's gonna be a double whammy and Svens gonna look a cvnt...
Happy Fox Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Positives MJ got a full 90 minutes, Schlupp played well, we will thrash these Welsh boys on Sunday
Collymore Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 i know what you mean, as well as the normal Lee Danns, there was Lee Pantsil, and quite a few others. Too much whiskey methinks Maybe, I hope he isn't battling with alcohol. He was caught with his head phones off and seemed so spaced at one point during the penalties.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 What odds do you reckon we can get on Kasper saving a penalty on Sunday?! That would be irony.
Guest shearfox Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Maybe you're just too ugly. bloody iPhone
Yojoe36 Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Who cares. Watch 'em get Aldershot at home in the draw
Petchy Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 If that's your 'glass is half empty' outlook on life then you better hope we do win on Sunday or it's gonna be a double whammy and Svens gonna look a cvnt...
One Arm Babba Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 I'm not bothered with the outcome. We can beat these on Sunday and I hope that lights the fire under us to do so. They sounded poor and there was more 1st teamers playing for them than for us. if we take 3pts off Cardiff we are well on track. Up the City!!!
Rincewind Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 gallagher just tweeted that he will be back after the international break. something for fans and non fans of his to look forward to.
Happy Fox Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 The majority of Cardiff team where first choice, and to think our second string team dominated them, with Beckford and other key personnel in the side if we play to our full potential, like we did against Brighton we will annihilate them.

I'd simply just take a 1-0 right now! The players should be up for it tho and will be wanting revenge but it doesn't always work out like that does it? I'm confident we can get something on Sunday, hopefully 3pts but football's a funny ole game!

They sounded poor and there was more 1st teamers playing for them than for us. if we take 3pts off Cardiff we are well on track. Up the City!!! Just a thought for you babba... How's about trying to beat them in BOTH competitions.. There's a novelty eh? Why not? Was it asking too much of us to do so? So far you know only one thing.., that we have been dumped out of the cup by Cardiff.. As regards Sunday you have absolutely no clue whether we will win or not. For me it's a shame we are out of the cup.. Another failure... Sundays match is a separate issue and you cannot predict what will happen.
Corky Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 All this annihilation stuff is ridiculous, Cardiff will be well up for it. It'll be a very tough game.
Tom17LCFC Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Just a shame we didnt have Henderson in goal, he was the penalty king. Blasphemy. There's only one penalty king, Mr Arphexad! Seriously hate Cardiff though.
crisp monster Posted 21 September 2011 Posted 21 September 2011 Not to bothered tbh All this Wembley talk - has anybody looked to see what teams are still left in it? It has given some of the fringe players a run out and hopefully we'll get the right result on Sunday. I'll be watching it in Munich on Sunday before going to the Octoberfest - never been before and hope I'm in a good mood before I get hammered
