Guest Bilo Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Destined to be an absolute star this boy is, Sven has pulled a blinder by throwing him in this season and not loaning him out again. Fearless. Massively agree. His rate of development on loan was stunning and it seems to be continuing back home in the Championship; he's rapid, strong and an excellent finisher as he showed today. A huge future and I'm delighted that, so far, we are handling his development in exactly the right way.
shiv Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Agreed. Was so pleased for him. What a game to get your first league goal in!
Haydos Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Must be over the moon. Fair play to him, he deserves it.
Narborough_fox Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Back of the shirt (and net) next time I get a new one.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 all hail the Schluppinator!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thracian Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 I think Schlupp has shown that he's up to the responsibility of first team football. He was perhaps lucky that Nugent and Gallagher's injuries left us short of attacking alternatives but he made the best of that bit of luck and now looks established for the season so long as he keeps working and learning. Being in what seems to be emerging as a decent team should help too because goal chances will abound and that should help keep him stay confident. Like Nugent he's the sort who persists even if things don't go well. He was the same in the Academy. Whatever happened he kept trying things and so often his persistence paid off. Perhaps his presence and ability was best shown when he went to Brentford and the Academy never quite seemed like the same side after that, even losing a Championship race they'd dominated so convincingly, during a faltering last few weeks.
Jimmy Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Schlupp should be used mainly as a sub but I think for the good of his development he should start every 5th or 6th game, helps him develop and allows us to rest 1s of the other front men
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Was over the moon as well, the players knew the significance and just mobbed him. Was amazing and home he gets confidence from it and keeps this nice rate of improvement going.
Corky Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 That goal will do him the world of good. Sven seems to be using him in the right way, not rushing him in, just using him gradually in league games whilst starting cup games. I hope he's here for a long time.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 He has so much potential. Keep yer ands orf im!
artursteppe Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 Hmmm, worrying. It's a shame how little he actually plays, I feel if he was at somewhere like Watford or Barnsley he'd be an absolute regular and he'd shine, here he's pretty limited in terms of first team action, albeit he gets to work on far better facilities and would get far better guidance. OK so you are worried by the interest of two Premiership clubs because we don't give him enough opportunities to play, makes sense?????

Someone posted on their that he has an agreement with Liverpool, hopefully it is load of crap but who knows. http://www.nufcblog.com/2011/10/04/newcastle-continue-looking-for-top-young-talent/? RESPONSES SO FAR ↓ 1G // Oct 4, 2011 at 12:42 PM Somebody on F365′s forum the other day mentioned that Schlupp has all but agreed a deal with Liverpool. I must confess, up until I read that, I hadn’t heard much about him.
blueblood88 Posted 4 October 2011 Posted 4 October 2011 Schlupp always looks a far more dangerous and competitive player than Gallagher to me. And more effective than Vassell. I agree with Ric - he's got an important role to play here and I see no reason why that should change. Perhaps Sven will finally look at the idea of using more fire power and even explore Middlesbrough idea of 3-5-2. I long wondered why we really need a back four when teams rarely play more than two up front and having five in midfield would blunt a greater proportion of attacks at source. It's a great system played well but you do need the right men on the outside of the five. And the right organiser in the back three. Tunchev comes to mind, yet again! You talk absolute shite
Happy Fox Posted 4 October 2011 Author Posted 4 October 2011 No doubt the goal he scored on Saturday has further enhanced him as probably one of the most sought after prospects in the championship, no chance of any club getting him on the cheap. So plain and simple piss of Newcastle, Liverpool and Stoke and any other club.

Babylon Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 Schluup should get his agent a nice present after he signs his new contract, he's doing a great job of making him look like one of the hottest properties outside the premier league. Now, the kids done alright and looks fairly promising but I've not seen anything so far that would make me think someone like Liverpool would be interested in him yet.
Bryn Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 Don't think he's quite at the level to be looked at by the big boys. Don't think he's quite at the level to start for us. I think he's getting the exactly appropriate level and amount of game time for us, and he'll come along nicely and be a decent player for us.
AmyLGK Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 Level of income £250,000 or higher - at 16 playing for the academy!?!?! BLOODY HELL!
