Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

I live in Norway and i follow the Norwegian league closely. Solskjaer took charge of Molde in front of this season and has transformed the club to winning machine, from being a relegation fighter last season. Mark Dempsey is his assistant doing a grand job. Molde will win the league this season and the way Solskjaer has worked wonders at Molde makes it fantastic to watch. He has done everything totally opposite of Sven, and build on the players he got, brought in players that fitted the system and during the season sold top forward Pape to FC Copenhagen.

When taking charge of Molde, he did everything opposite of Sven, building on the team he got, made a few signings and just worked the team to play fantastic football but also at the same time being able to grab points when they didn't play great.

He has learned his trade from Sir Alex Ferguson, he is young and he he knows everything about England and English football. He knows all the reserve teams in the league, and would make a fantastic manager for Leicester City FC. Would love to see him back in England with Leicester.

Martin O'Neill is again a big name, and to see him back at Leicester is a bit strange, but again of course no one doubts Martin O'Neill, but he will probably demand more money than Sven and feel life in this league frustrating, not being able to sign just the players he likes. Solskjaer is not there at all and knows how to handle a budget and he is a brilliant manager.

I doubt that he will come to Leicester, but for me he would have been suited for this job. 100 % certain.

Mark Dempsey is not a man to doubt either, clever guy assisting Ole G at Molde, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Dempsey_(English_footballer)

NO NO NO.

Need a proven manager at Championship level.

I'd have this guy as manager anytime.

Proven? All Ole's ever proven is what a winner he is. And what a cracking yet selfless goalscorer.

There'd be no need to persuade this guy to attack and no shortage of expertise in showing how that might be done.

OGS is a bright guy, and a breath of footballing fresh air.

He's got stacks of contacts across the world, he's managed at Manchester United, he knows the game and the players backwards and has shown himself capable of budget management too.

Picking a winning team is no different in The Championship than anywhere else and if OGS can't recognise an effective player then I cannot imagine who on Earth would be better qualified.

Another Scandinavian with zero experience of the English lower leagues?

No way will Top and co ever contemplate this appointment.

In any case, he's probably being groomed as the eventual successor to Sir Alex atOld Trafford.

I'm pretty sure that with the amount of money they've put into the club the owners will want a bigger name than OGS. He's always seemed like an exceptionally nice guy, has worked under the best and seems to be making a good start to his managerial career. However i can pick everyone of them apart. Sven was a nice guy with a lot of respect. if he wasn't good enough for the owners then its clear being nice makes no difference. Keane, Bruce, Robson all learnt under the best as well. Out of all of them Bruce has done alright, the other 2 not so much. Learning from the best doesn't make you the best. He has had a good start. That is all, a start. Not enough experience or time to be able to say he's a great manager rather than just an average manager on a good run. Bottom line is it could be a good risk and he good be a very good manager, but I do not see our owners sacking someone of Svens caliber to put in someone so new to management with no proven track record.

Di Matteo please. Proven, big name, plays lovelyfootball. Got everything I, and the Thai boys, want.

I would be quite happy with this and I have a sneaky feeling because of the reasons in bold, they want someone with Championship experience and he fits the bill as quite a big name - bigger than Dave Jones or Billy Davies anyway.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would be the ideal choice if MON turns down the challenge. He has done more for Molde in one season that any other manager at the club, and Molde has previously played in the Champions League.

The Norwegian season is over in a week or two, and he will not be stopped by his club, a club Solskjaer will guide to the League Championship for the first time in the clubs history.

He has the experience, learned from the best and know the English game in and out.

He is on the same path as Brendan Rodgers and Gus Poyet, who both are doing great at the moment, with previous lives as reserve team coaching and as assistant managers.

Solskjaer would also trigger the major stars to join, since he has played with most of them and that they might feel that he is the future, with Sven being a "has been" for many.

But wouldn't that mean that they'd be in their mid/late 30's?

He'd be a real gamble but like someone else said I simply cannot see the owners going for him purely because he's another with no Champ experience and Scandanavian, again?

Never say never, though. I quite like the sound of him, he'd be a huge gamble though.

Being Scandinavian or nice had nothing to do with Sven's sacking. And I'd say OGS was as big a name as City could hope to get.

Sven was sacked because of his tactical ineptitude, the limitations of his signings and subsequent team selections, the lack of progress in areas of obvious weakness and any number of other things.

Mentioning Keane and Robson also has nothing to do with the likely management style of OGS. Even comment about his having no experience of The Championship is nonsense because as an intending manager these recent years I'm quite sure he'd have followed the fortunes of championship football and be completely familiar with the teams and the players.

Because if he was ever going to be a serious manager it would make his job a whole lo easier to know where the talent lay.
