Darkon84 Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 My sister in law is from Molde. She's a Molde and part time Leicester fan. She's also a big fan of Solskjaer I believe she's of opinion that he should stay put in Norway. My brother (her husband) would fill you in. I'm sure he's lurking around these boards somewhere My dads bigger than your dad
Rich Fox Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 Dont think Martin Oneill would be a good appointment for us. His brand of long ball football would mean he would rip this very talented bunch of players that Sven has assembled and replace with hoofers. We need someone who can build on the good work done by Sven and add some pace on the wings and full backs but keep out passing team together. Not slating Oneill far from it but think his style of play is far to different from what we have at the moment and I think it would be a step back appointing him. Bad move for martin and would be an even worse move for Leicester City.

We have not been a Premiership club for over 10 years and if you go back over the past 35 years we have never remotely had a manager as successful as MON and probably never likely to again. MON is probably one of the best 10 managers in the country over the past 15 years and yet he would not improve our club - get real he would instantly install discipline and teach the current crop of players about organisation with no one individual being bigger than the rest. As a fan for over 35 years having seen the Shipmans, George, plc and Milan lead the club I hope that the current owners are taking some proper football advice because to date I think sacking Sven was understandable but get the next appointment wrong could send the club back many years - than less they intend to continue investing heavily. We have at least 20 to 25 first teamers and still do not have a first choice 11 who are a balanced defensive/attacking unit so whoever gets hold of our team will undoubtedly want to make changes so I think a bumpy ride is ahead - I for one would have more faith in MON than any of the others mentioned!!
dannythefox Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 If they want someone by sat then it has to be someone out of work surly? If it was someone in work they'd need to ask permission to speak to them and sort out compo etc etc would they have time?

whoareyaaa Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 4 top ten premiership finishes with us. dont need to say much more than that.
Happy Fox Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 If we are to get a new manager by Saturday he will surely have to be a free agent expect it to be one of either Billy Davies, MON or Mark Hughes

Maybe hoof ball is wrong word but his style of play would mean he would get rid of players such as Sol Bamba and in my opinion it would mean to many changes. We need someone who can work with the current crop of very talented players. I was totally against sacking Sven but dont believe it would be good move for us and its right you should NEVER go back. Ive been supporting City since mid 70s and what oneill did was fantastic but that dont mean it would work again.
whoareyaaa Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 Avram Grant has been spotted at the KP Stadium Get a Mole down there oh there already is.

Look at the midfield we had back then. Izzet, Guppy, Lennon and Savage. Three pass masters and technically able players with a voracious ball winner backing them up. We played some lovely stuff at times under MON, the 'boring Leicester' tag coming from embittered Premiership managers who couldn't fathom why this cheaply assembled side was matching the big boys, and the press ran with it. Fair enough we weren't Arsenal, but we were hardly Wimbledon or Stoke either.
Ozwin Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 I think I'd cry if we got Avram feckin Grant. Utter useless donkey who has no more motivational skills than Sven did. Backwards step if I ever saw one. Highly doubt they'd go in for him.

A couple of changes yes every manager does that but nothing drastic.

Happy Fox Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 red_leicester Jonathan Paul Despite today's media reports saying Martin O'Neill doesn't want the #LCFC job, someone in tomorrow's Mercury thinks otherwise... #40p

Yes ive been misunderstood on here was oneills biggest fan but all I am trying to say is he would have to get rid of half the current team to get his system to work. I f you dont understand that then you cant know to much about football..I was season ticket holder all through Martins glory years and am today.

Ozwin Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 Ooohhh another twist, the saga just will not die people! And it'll probably be some guy they interviewed in the street rather than anyone with any knowledge.
