TrentFox Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 Probably sounds needy as **** but if we don't have a manager in charge against Wet Spam then this would be the perfect way to show the owners and the man himself who we really want. Print as many as you please, they should fit nicely onto A4, hand them out if you can and just get behind it I guess. Or not. Whatever. Can't help but think that, with the exclamation mark and from a distance, it will look like "come back Martini", which is something very different and something I'd prefer not to make a comeback, to be honest !
Leicesterpool Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 If Liverpool can have there King Kenny, then we can have our Martin O'God
dannythefox Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 The Guardian and Daily Mail make no mention of "friends". The Daily Star mentions that O'Neill has let "close friends" know he doesn't want to tarnish his previous record with City. Before that the report says that O'Neill is READY to reject a second spell. Seems that one report has been copied by others. Still doesn't smell right to me. Cc star can ready between the lines though!
wattolcfc Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 It IS as needy as **** - not to mention infantile. We survived (though at times maybe only just) without him for the past 11 1/2 years. Why are we so desperate to have him back now? These banners won't impress the hammers, nor have ANY impact on the owners or MON himself. Well you say that but didn't the banners saying 'DON'T GO MARTIN' work on him before? He's a sucker for a good ol' banner
SVEN4EVAR Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 If Liverpool can have there King Kenny, then we can have our Martin O'God There's a difference thou.
Corky Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 As much as I love the wee irish man,He always quits when the going gets tough so he can go away,Cloughy come to Leicester Nigel "I lost 8-0 to Sven" Clough? No thanks.
Thor Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 My sister in law is from Molde. She's a Molde and part time Leicester fan. She's also a big fan of Solskjaer I believe she's of opinion that he should stay put in Norway. My brother (her husband) would fill you in. I'm sure he's lurking around these boards somewhere Solskjær is doing brilliantly in his first season as manager of Molde. They are eight points clear with only three games to go, so are close to wrapping up the title. Not surprisingly, my Molde-born wife and her family all want him to stay. After all he is a local lad – well, actually he comes from the neighbouring town of Kristiansund, but he made his name playing for Molde and they hero-worship him there. Vi reiser til Molde nesten hver sommer. Det er et flott sted. Vi var på Aker Stadion for to år siden for å se Molde slå Vålerenga 5-0...

We've been shocking pretty much every season since he left, why wouldn't we want him? I'm not saying it will have any impact but you realy can't see why we would be desperate to have him back?
wellyfox Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 As much as would want MoN back this stinks of desperation. I think MoN knows the feeling we have for him Top and co do too. It's down to money and not just his pay. If he will meet Top n Co I am sure he will be interested but not sure he will even meet.
Ricey Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 Made a poster earlier, before I saw this thread: http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/4638/comebackmon.jpg PRINT PRINT PRINT!

You've got yourself a point. I've added a new one. And it's a sign of unity too, even in times of uncertainty we're all together in a public display of want for the great one.
SVEN4EVAR Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 Nigel "I lost 8-0 to Sven" Clough? No thanks. He's doing wonders with Derby after lossing some key players.

Corky Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 This wouldn't be a good move. To publicly campaign for one man to take over, when it's not even clear he's interested, will seriously undermine whoever does take the job, with the likelihood of it being someone else. They will have a tough task anyway, this will make it even harder.
Walkers Pallet Chauffeur Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 I kind of hope nothing is decided by Saturday so we can get something going at West Ham to draw his attention. Can you imagine thousands of people holding up 'Come Home Martin' signs, I think it'd take a hard man to turn us down after something like that. Surely the new manager wud b at the West Ham game watching. Sven watched the game before he was appointed. Watch the stands people........... I won't b there so updates needed plenty. Hope they have good 3G signal! thumbup
Jace Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 It worked years ago surely it would be worth a try? probably won't work but just for the sake of small chance it could why not? if everybody travelling to west ham had 1 would be a fantastic idea. Anybody generous enough to print off hundreds and hand them out?
Jace Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 What's wrong with the other 73 MON threads? It's a different topic

foxoffderby Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 Its a great idea im going to west ham it would be great if we had posters saying bring back martin. It may help persuade martin to come back and tell the board who we want.
Jace Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 Why not try contacting The Fox fanzine maybe they might help. Maybe wasn't it Leicester Mercury that supplied them last time with O'Neill?
