MON in talks

I wouldn't know how to contact the Merc/Fox Fanzine personally but if someone fancies doing it then go for it.

Is the general consensus that this is something people would be up for then?

Worth a go I'd say.

Even if someone printed a load and handed them out before the game. Here's my version in black & white if people want to do that:

This has no chance of success and will only embarrass ourselves, but it would be fuckin' great to relive those scenes from yesteryear. Well up for it.

...we also played a blinder against a London club that night so it's a good omen ;)

Our seasons without MON.

2000-2001 Premiership (Peter Taylor): Went top briefly in October then it all went pear shaped. Record run of defeats towards the end of the season with 9 on the spin.

2001-2002 Premiership (Peter Taylor, Dave Bassett, Micky Adams): Horrific season, only bright point was closing Filbert Street with a win.

2002-2003 Championship (Micky Adams): Administration but promoted. Good season.

2003-2004 Premiership (Micky Adams): Relegated with veritable Dad's Army. Bright spots rare that year.

2004-2005 Championship (Micky Adams, Craig Levein): Woeful season. The fact that Fosse Gold appeared in fact to be Dysentery Beige was reflected in our play for the most part.

2005-2006 Championship (Craig Levein, Rob Kelly): THAT game against Tottenham aside, pretty dire.

2006-2007 Championship (Rob Kelly, Nigel Worthington): Slipping inexorably towards relegation, speaking of which......

2007-2008 Championship (Martin Allen, Gary Megson, Ian Holloway): Worst season in our history, club became a laughing stock.

2008-2009 League One (Nigel Pearson): Great season, best fun I've had following City for years.

2009-2010 Championship (Nigel Pearson): So near yet so far, but still a few stinkers that season.

2010-2011 Championship (Paulo Sousa, Sven-Goran Eriksson): Woeful start, good mid-season but ultimately flattered to deceive.

Not so sure we've been 'perfectly fine' without Martin. Much of the time we've been average to woeful and barely keeping our heads above water, only significant investment over the past couple of years has stopped us becoming another Coventry or Sheffield Wednesday.

It IS as needy as **** - not to mention infantile.

We survived (though at times maybe only just) without him for the past 11 1/2 years. Why are we so desperate to have him back now?

These banners won't impress the hammers, nor have ANY impact on the owners or MON himself.

If by survive you mean drop into the 3rd division and be a bottom end championship club for 10 years then we jolly we did :D

For the record, I'm not so sure about this gesture as we could end up looking right mugs if/when someone else gets the gig. Talk about a tough job to win us over.

If however MON does take on the mantle, I think it'd be rude not to have a few Welcome Home Martin posters floating around the KP for the Leeds game.

I think the club is in a real mess now. Even Martin would struggle. I don't think he's upto it anymore. He's just going to wait until the Spurs job is there. I don't think any of the top 4 want him.

Is the banners going to be sorted then?

This banner idea, while it is a romantic whimsical thing, doesn't it somewhat make the club look a bit regressive, and well, lame?

gtfo... how is it all of a sudden in such a mess just because sven has gone..

the players are still here, the owners, the fans. the points we have amassed so far..

with regards to the banners, Bert has said they hope to have an announcement before saturday so could be waste of time for you

So, we should know who the manager is tomorrow?

You shouldn't be allowed out the house or near a computer during half term.

And only under supervision at other times come to think of it.

Harsh.

And everyone who agrees with me - send me pictures of your teenage female relations in swimsuits or underwear.
