MON in talks

No paper has managed to supply a quote from O'Neill saying he is not interested or has turned down the position. Until they do I wouldn't rule this out. The only quotes supplied were those from Top which we already knew about.

The quote is from him, or his agent. It's just been worded to let us down gently as he obviously respects what we think of him.

And where does it say that? He's not said anything the first time he does it will be on ssn/bbc news.

You might be right. But why doesn't someone from the club confirm this if it's so cut and dried?

Because it will automatically make anyone else second choice

ffs everyone else is second choice and whoever takes the job will no that!

What? Read what I said.

Attributing the story to 'friends' is letting us doen gently. Of course they're not going to say in the same article that the 'friends' is indeed him or his agent.

I could just imagine seeing the Football League Show covering this, the camera goes onto Leicester supporters with banners "Martin Come Home", right print the banners.

Well am glad you no because nobody else does!

So What if it does ? Was Sven first choice?

Because 2nd choice will be thrown back in their faces, its just the way things are done, even if other people are spoken to they'll keep saying they always wanted whoever gets the job as their choice anyway, but it doesnt look great at negotiating table if someone knows youve been turned down already.

You keep flying that flag & be blind to reading between the lines.

As if these papers haven't spoken to O'Neills agent in the past couple of days.

Probably sounds needy as **** but if we don't have a manager in charge against Wet Spam then this would be the perfect way to show the owners and the man himself who we really want.

Print as many as you please, they should fit nicely onto A4, hand them out if you can and just get behind it I guess.

Or not.

Whatever.

If I had a ticket i'd be printing them and handing them out for sure, hope someone else does, they'd go down as a legend if it actually worked.. If you want to be a FT Legend, your time is now! :chant:

It IS as needy as **** - not to mention infantile.

We survived (though at times maybe only just) without him for the past 11 1/2 years. Why are we so desperate to have him back now?

These banners won't impress the hammers, nor have ANY impact on the owners or MON himself.

The Guardian and Daily Mail make no mention of "friends".

The Daily Star mentions that O'Neill has let "close friends" know he doesn't want to tarnish his previous record with City. Before that the report says that O'Neill is READY to reject a second spell.

Seems that one report has been copied by others. Still doesn't smell right to me.
