whoareyaaa Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 From what I can gather, no-one met last night and there certainly hasn't been any contact between the club and MON. There have been lots of applicants and they hope to apoint a new manager within 48 hours. That is all This hope being MON putting pen to paper.
flanimal Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 First of all, I have no insider knowledge, but this is how I think things have gone down. They haven't contacted Martin O'Neill at all. They haven't talked, the job hasn't been offered at all.

Walshy5 Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 I will be pissed off if we make no contact what so ever! And i bet we,ll never find out!
wurmer Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 Some on here are simply: * D E L U S I O N A L * Where do you think the 'Martin isn't interested' stories come from?
Thracian Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 Could you imangine the reaction if OGS sits back away from home? It's not necessarily the sitting back away from home that's the problem - but if you do take that line you have to have some footballing greyhounds in the team with which to counter quickly when you gain possession. And a striker to help them see that those quick breaks are turned into goals.
whoareyaaa Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 Some on here are simply: * D E L U S I O N A L * Where do you think the 'Martin isn't interested' stories come from? Has he been quoted saying he is not intrested.
Thracian Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 I love that Thracian basically posts 'well, I DID tell Sven how to save his job!' There were plenty of fans told him loudly enough. But I've never seen the point of posting an opinion without believing in it any more than ever seeing the merit in sending out a team of players without believing in them.
wurmer Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 Has he been quoted saying he is not intrested. Thanks for proving my point......
MGLCFC Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 Have I missed something here - Has Martin O Neill actually come out and said 'I don't want the Leicester job' Apart from the odd daily paper who have reported this other media such as , SSN, the BBC and other reliable sources have not quoted O Neill with this statement.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 Might be delusional but im still hoping Martin O'Neill comes back to Leicester
Guest shearfox Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 No paper has managed to supply a quote from O'Neill saying he is not interested or has turned down the position. Until they do I wouldn't rule this out. The only quotes supplied were those from Top which we already knew about.

I havnt seen a quote from Alex Ferguson denying interest either..... come on Alex!!! there is still hope lads!
Guest shearfox Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 come to think of it.... I havnt seen a quote from Alex Ferguson denying interest either..... come on Alex!!! there is still hope lads! fair dues... MON would have been contacted and had the opportunity to turn down the position. Ferguson was never contacted so didn't have the opportunity. So I think it's a little different...
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 You shouldn't be allowed out the house or near a computer during half term. And only under supervision at other times come to think of it. lol lol
FallenAngel Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 I'm still hoping for the messiah to return, I'm gonna b heartbroken if it doesn't happen, but until I see an actual quote from him or the club I'm still believing it might happen
terry2simmo Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 I agree with Angel. Apart from the Bullshit paper talk there is nothing concrete to say one way or another what MON may decide. He is a complex man who has great intelect and a great belief in what he can achieve. I dont think he would care that we are in the championship. If he thinks the job is right for him he will go for it .. Until he comes out and turns it down officially I for one will dare to hope.

I'm staking all my hopes on MON returning... anything else now would be a massive let-down. I couldn't care less who gets the job... if it's not MON, I won't be happy. A stupid view? Perhaps... but it's the one I have.

Let's hope we don't become shipwrecked

If we don't get him it was a waste of time giving Sven the boot I thought we were going to replace him with a BETTER manager!
Ozwin Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 I kind of hope nothing is decided by Saturday so we can get something going at West Ham to draw his attention. Can you imagine thousands of people holding up 'Come Home Martin' signs, I think it'd take a hard man to turn us down after something like that.

I just hope the fans respond by taking banners, would absolutely love it and it would be all over the news... I honestly believe that would sway his mind!

Yep me too, anyone else is gonna be an anti climax, and just a tad disappointing, we are allowed to have high expectations and dreams after all aren't we? Still, whoever they do get in we still need to give our support, it's still the club we love
