MON in talks

Recommended Posts

As far as I'm aware there have still been NO talks with MON. Until there have been and there is a direct comment or something at least a little more concrete I'd say lets wait and see.

What are we playing at! Offer him all the money and assurances he wants! Guarantee him the job for life....let him get on with it and we can all hit the sauce! :chant:

53 pages for something that's never going to happen, no matter how much people want it to.

It's Maynard all over again.

Its wishful thinking, but after the nonsense on Wednesday about MON turning us down, we have heard nothing. Why would he not have put this to bed? if he was not at least considering us? I think there is a chance, we are being linked to everyone under the sun, but there is nothing tangible.

We always wanted him back, this is our last chance to realise this and although its a bit romantic, where else is going to. MANU? no chance SPURS Really? the way the top flight is moving on, a small club in a big league, ENGLAND no chance.

I love MON but where does he go from here? He needs to come back to Leicester,

Probably not heard anything because Top asked him and he said no. That's it. Not hard to stay out of contact from press if he doesn't want to comment.

He is a top, top manager and coming back to Leicester whether we like it or not, is a step backwards for him!

He will walk in to a job in the Prem. I think he can even afford to be picky in the Prem too and the likes of Spurs are well in his range if Harry leaves for ENgland job.

I can see him taking over at Sunderland though as it's a club he supported growing up and I think he could turn them in to a top 6 team with some money.

Yeah and by the tone of Claridges voice MON has not said NO yet...

It was also nice of him not to rule us out of going up yet...

Please be true, but doubt MON will accept the job, be happily proves wrong if it does happen.

How does Claridge know this?

Anyone got a link to what he said?

Claridge knows all this because he knows Martin O'Neill and is an insider of football.

It's on the iPlayer, but he said that O'Neill met with the owners in London, and that he didn't say he wasn't interested and that the longer Leicester go without a manager the more likely Claridge can see O'Neill returning. He thinks if the owners show they really want him, he might return.

It doesn't just depend on the money, perhaps O'Neill is thinking about is it possible to take Leicester back in the premier league in seven months with a team sitting 14th in the championship.

Maybe not, but he would easily get us up next season without a shadow of a doubt.

The other guy on the show said O'Neill had turned us down, and Claridge seemed fairly confident that was not how it was. He said if the club really showed they wanted him, O'Neill would be tempted. But this might be nonsense.

Why wouldn't he be tempted if the owners are f**king about with him I won't be pleased. Come on Top and Andrew Neville convince him to come please.

Yesterday's performance would certainly convince a few names, cause what I saw from our second half performance was a team that looked promotion form. We may have lost, but a great performance.

This.

If MON was ever going to come, he would have been in place for the West Ham game.

Why would he have waited until we'd lost further ground in the promotion race and thus reduced his chances of a successful comeback?

By the way, Claridge left us in 1998. How often would he be likely to speak to MON these days? Probably about once-twice/year maximum..

Thing is, what other job is O'Neill likely to be getting? None of the top 4. Tottenham possibly, if Harry Redknapp leaves. I don't think O'Neill will get the England job. So that leaves mid table Premier League clubs, like Sunderland. I don't know what O'Neill's plans are, but if he wants a top 4 club, he has to do something impressive. If he could take Leicester up, and get us into Europe, then a job like Manchester United could be his.

But this is all fantasyland.
