Is it me or does it seen a bit strange that O'Neill has NOT said he doesn't want the job?

how do you know he hasnt?

just because its not been on tv dont mean its not happened..

very good chance it will be though, if he said it out right then the press would just leave it and that would be that. This is typical O'Neill not rushing in to any thing that's my view anyway.

I can't belive they would get rid of a name like Sven without sorting something out before hand!!!

At the same time, would MON or managers similar to him want to work for a board that arranges replacements before having the decency to sack the manager? It's the risk of dodgy dealings like that which I think will ultimately put MON off returning. He needs complete reassurance he won't be fed to the lions in 6 months and have his legendary status at the club thrown through the mud.

why?? what if he had lost the dressing room like Bert said... how could they keep him??

or imagine not much in a result was expected from West Ham away either so could give them week or so to get in a new one..

I agree 100%. At least the they are doing this respectively, as i think it would have damaged their "repuation" had they have had Sven walking out the back door, as somebody else is passing through on the front door

Maybe O'Neill isn't denying the rumours because they are so ridiculous he doesn't see the point.

Kind of like how Angelina Jolie isn't denying rumours that she's sleeping with Timmy Mallett.

I've just come back from holiday, can't believe whats gone on while ive been away. :o

To save me from reading through thousands of posts could somebody please enlighten me as to whether there are any developments? Who is looking the most likely to succeed Svennis? Surely not MON?!

Lee Clark now most popular with the bookies despite claiming he's not interested in the job. My money (if I had any) would be on Mark Hughes, and I'd actually be quite happy with that...

Billy Davies, Dave Jones and Ian Dowie are all eager to follow Sven-Goran Eriksson as the next Leicester City boss, BBC Radio Leicester understands.

Former Cardiff City manager Dave Jones and ex-Charlton Athletic and QPR boss Dowie have both applied.

And Davies, who was in charge of Leicester's fierce rivals Derby County and Nottingham Forest, is also keen.

Huddersfield manager Lee Clark, who earlier this week distanced himself from the job, is also in the running.

Foxes legend Martin O'Neill was one of the early favourites for the role following Eriksson's shock exit on Monday.

But the club's Thai owners have said they are no rush to appoint their new man.

If it's Dowie then I suspend my post as a Leicester City fan until his inevitable early sacking. I just couldn't stand the embarrassment.

The idea of Billy Davies is slightly growing on me. Really not sure at all about Dave Jones...

Agree with you mate. Billy Davies could be a good appointment and like yourself I don't know about Jones.

Dowie would be a disaster.

Davies seems the best out of them three, but still board should try & try again O'Neill.

My head says Davies but Something bugs me about him, would like Lee Clark but wont get instant results so would get sacked within a month, o'neill is not coming.

Apparently when he was at Forest he was hardly on the training ground. Also he refused to move closer to Nottingham & stayed in Preston.

Sounds every bit like O'Neill
