The People's Hero Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Thing is, there's bound to be God knows how many names linked via the media. I find it funny to see people getting their knickers in a twist every time a name is mentioned when there is zero substance in it. As far as i'm aware there is absolutely nothing concrete regarding any 'approach' so the 'OMG not Dowie, Freedman etc' is more than a little premature. I'm sure our owners know exactly what they're doing and Sousa (and Sven?) where just minor misjudgements. Totally agree, the bookies just make it up sometimes too. Where have the names Dider Deschamps and Jimmy Willis come from? I have to admit I've done that partly because I don't reckon they've ever been in the same sentence before. Remember when Jimmy Willis went on a bit of a run of own goals. He paved the way for the likes of Frank Sinclair - a mere pretender to Jimmy's throne. God bless you Jimmy. I would love it if he googled his name and found this. Jimmy Willis.
Leicesterpool Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Pearson with a cheque book is interesting, but can't see it happening.

After his man of the match performance in the Play Off Final all those years ago he will always be God-like to me, and more than welcome to shag my wife any time he likes. I'm sure you'll read this some day Jimmy, so PM me when you do and i'll send you a pic. (of my wife, that is).
seenitall Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 No he didn't fail, finishing 5th was above expectations. The players who missed the penalties were subs. Admittedly he got his tactics wrong in the first place, yet we probably still would have won had the referee done his job properly and given 2 stone wall penalties. Similarly in the second leg which we bossed from 25 minutes in onwards, we were again robbed by a couple of massive decisions. Well done for picking out a couple of good things about Sven amongst the piles of shit things. Defence was looking good yes, his problem was he relied on it to get results and it backfired. Guess what? Pearson's defence was solid too. Nugent scored a few, imagine how many he could have had already if he'd had some decent service? And Beckford too? And Vassell, he's shown he can hit a barn door, Oh no wait he hasn't. What about our negative tactics? Our lack of discipline? Our lack of team spirit? Failure to get the most out of a talented squad? I'm not going to continue. Sorry but if you think Sven was doing a better job than Pearson you are insane, end of. oh no i'm not

Pearson at Hull, with a far lower transfer budget than ours, has taken his club up four places since the end of last season. Meanwhile Sven, despite spending mega-millions. took us three places DOWN.
Guest Bilo Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Well Jimmy wouldn't have to worry too much about getting there. Oh no indeedy.
Salieri Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Someone must have this mobile number. Let's make this tryst a reality for the lucky Mrs Spiderpig (if thats her real name, which I have no reason to doubt). And why would you? I'm sure the Mrs Peoples Hero (i'm assuming your first name is The?) would be equally forthcoming?
The People's Hero Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 He's 150-1 to get the job. Come on Top, do the right thing!
The People's Hero Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 And why would you? I'm sure the Mrs Peoples Hero (i'm assuming your first name is The?) would be equally forthcoming? I'm happy to 'throw her in to the mix' as it were (which it most definitely is). She's blissfully unaware but has always had a thing for Liverpudlian cabbies.
dave the caveman Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Just watching videos of the play off semi at Cardiff. I don't see how anyone could say NP failed really. Looking back now it seems like they were the glory days. A solid no nonsense manager, players who genuinely cared. And now look at us... a ****ing shambles. Where did it all go wrong? Millions upon millions spent and we're worse off now than we were before. Proof if it was needed that money can't buy you happiness or success, it just rips your soul out and destroys all the things you love.
Walkers Pallet Chauffeur Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 What an anti-climax this will be Sven down to Davies or Jones, like trading your range rover in for a Nissan Micra. Yeah but O'Neill wud b upgrading from a Range Rover to a Aston Martin!
cc_star Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 I can't belive they would get rid of a name like Sven without sorting something out before hand!!! Why? He wasn't good enough and they're too professional to go behind his back, which would have drawn the criticism of other managers, tthe LMA & other clubs, so they need to remove him to start the process.

You're in for a treat.
acooling08 Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 I think if MON's heart was in it, he'd have joined by now.
pSinatra Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Really? He loves the attention. He wants to see the placards tomorrow and hear the chants... then he'll want the owners to double his money. Its MON's way or the high way and MON's way usually involves massaging his own ego. Still want him here though. Agreed!! A tactician on & off the field. His ego is massive & likes things his own way. Held to ransom when Leeds offered him a move & happy to play the 'Sheffield Utd' card whenever he needed to. He had us & the club in his pocket. That said, I would love to see his return!!!!
Toffee_Fox Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Fourth Official said similar on twitter Hughes is favoured more
Happy Fox Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Hughes is favoured more He won't get the job, it will be Clark and most likely Keegan as DOF.

Unprofessional to have a quick word with an out of work manager that has no loyalty to anyone else and say, "if when the time is right we had to get rid of our manager would you be interested?" .... I can't believe Top's naivety if he didn't, and there's absolutely nothing that could be criticised in that behaviour either.
Toffee_Fox Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 He won't get the job, it will be Clark and most likely Keegan as DOF. Okies
Nick Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Okies - Nice to have you back - good luck this weekend, I feel Manure may have a point to prove.......... So your info leans towards Sparky eh?
1991FOX Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Interesting news I've been hearing that will certainly interest you all! The owners have spoken to MON, and indeed did so before sacking Sven. They have offered MON £35k a week, now the reason nothing has flourished as of yet is due to the obvious fact MON wants reassurances. One of which, he does not want to be pressurised or reviewed with a view to being sacked. Thats all I have been told, I can imagine there are many more assurances MON wants, like full control of playing squad etc. The fact that MON is still interested and has not turned down anything is promising. Is my source credible? Well, I stated on FT a while back that the owners gave Sven 6 games to get in the top 3 or face the sack. 6 games later he was sacked. I hope this comes to fruition partly because I have just put my neck on the line, but mainly because he's GOD
