MON in talks

Probably wrong place to put this - Brian McDermott (can't be arsed to see if I've spelt it right) says he hasn't been contacted but has come out with this nugget of wisdom

"What I find strange, though, is that they got rid of Sven and I thought that his replacement would be done and dusted."

I find it strange too - makes you wonder if the 12 year old Thai in charge of our club knows anything at all about anything, let alone football

This is what is making me think that MON deal could be done.

No one else has spoken about the fact they are in talks or interested

If it is done why haven't they announced it?

As I pointed out elsewhere, when Sven was hired quickly last time (after the sacking of Sousa) that was the exception and not the rule.

Quite often a managerial appointment can take a week or two. It's quite uncommon for someone to be sacked one day and the replacement to be announced the next.

There is every possibility that we already had a short list in place. But it takes time to contact their clubs (if in a job), arrange compensation if needed, contact the manager, interview them, make your decision, arrange contracts etc.

They may also have respect for the current person in charge and do not wish to do things behind their back.

thats hard to work out.

Not at all. People will still speculate and until a. we sign a new manager or b. MON signs for someone else there is always a possibility and people bet on possibilities. I stil think there is a slim chance of MON signing and I talk what the papers state with a pinch of salt (partly because I am willing this to happen).

I do hope so, although that would rule MoN out straight away as he is a free agent. I also do hope that Leicester City are not just a spoilt little rich boys play thing. This is his first go at this, as it was Milan who appointed Sven - I hope he didn't fire him as a knee jerk reaction to a crap result after one defeat in 9 before that -I also found this other quote when checking my facts - from LMA boss Richard Bevan when we sacked Sousa

“Knee-jerk dismissals and the chopping and changing of managers will not deliver success on the field and is incredibly destabilising.”

It wasn't, although he took the credit.

If it had been left to Mandaric, Sousa would have stayed and we'd never have had Sven at all.

What does Bevan have to say about so many of his members receiving handsome payoffs for failure in their jobs?

Not really, as I also said they may not have wanted to do it behind Svens back. Or maybe the person they wanted didn't wish to.

So they don't mind firing him and humiliating him on national TV and press but they wanted to spare his feelings re the new guy even if it means losing a few more games because we haven't got a manager - Top is all heart, I change my view of him as a clueless brat

Yes, it would have been wonderful for Sven to see his replacement swanning around with the owner's before officially being sacked

That was the way Mandy worked, these guy's did it the correct way in regard's to ettiquette, they called Sven in to a meeting with the intention of sacking.

The meeting take's place and Sven does not change their mind, he is fired from his job.

They then go after target's they would have had lined up just in case thing's we're going wrong.
