thybluefox Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 I always like to go to oneils after a good shoe shopping trip.
STUHILL Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Official approach for Clark then?! Prefer Hughes to be honest <_<
Wink Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 End of the day he must feel he has everything to lose if he was to come back.. Only instant promotion would be a success, anything less and it could be seen as a failure! Therefore even Blackburn would seem more attractive, ESP as they are already in the prem... I'd be happy with Hughes the more I think about it... Otherwise Clark could turn out to be a shrewd appointment! We need to stay positive and trust the owners... We are in better shape now than when they took over!!
One Arm Babba Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Pay him a kings ransom for a contract until June. Leave Martin the option of staying if we're promoted or going if he wishes. There isn't a job in the Premier league worth waiting for at the moment. Blackburn? Sunderland? I doubt they really set his pulse racing. If they really want him, they'd get him.
Fox 4 Life Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Clark would be so disappointing with Hughes available
l444ry Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Massive jump in club size and expectations. If he's really the man they want I hope Lee Clark has the inner mental strength and genuine confidence to take on the job. This is a different situation to when Little, McGhee and O'Neill were recruited.
Guest Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 True. and he's not going to bring in the "name" players that the owners so desperately want. He'll be bringing in League 1 players.
Tielemans63 Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 True. and he's not going to bring in the "name" players that the owners so desperately want. He'll be bringing in League 1 players. Although our best signing (with the exception of Kasper) has prob been Lee Peltier - a signing from League 1.
CupidStunt Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Somebody I know who claims they know Martin O' Neill personally says he has said no he will not be taking the job Crock of shite....from what we know about MON, he wouldnt say that, He hasnt even been offered the job from what we know. Clarke or Hughes is my bet
lestajigs Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Youll get some news tomorrow. You said, 48 hours last wednesday!!!
Socks Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Dont wanna cause slander but dont think we will get MON his wifes really poorly apparently last thing on his mind would be managing us
Jace Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Crock of shite....from what we know about MON, he wouldnt say that, He hasnt even been offered the job from what we know. Clarke or Hughes is my bet So from what you know of O' Neill he wouldn’t turn the Leicester job down? Do you think then he wants the job but the owners are not interested in appointing him? I can see why they call you CupidStunt

Would this really be what we want? I really want O'Neill, but a manager sets the whole infrastructure of the club up. We would have to start again in the summer with a new guy who has completely new ideas. Surely there is enough decent managers (admitedly none with the same pull as O'neill) who could give the club the continuity that is required.
Saladin Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 What ever happens, this thread is epic (88,036 Views) - If he doesn't come, would definitely be an anti-climax!
CupidStunt Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 So from what you know of O' Neill he wouldn’t turn the Leicester job down? Do you think then he wants the job but the owners are not interested in appointing him? I can see why they call you CupidStunt What you are saying doesnt make sense pal So from what you know of O' Neill he wouldn’t turn the Leicester job down? He aint been offered the job unless you belive the newspapers, so how can he turn it down? Do you think then he wants the job but the owners are not interested in appointing him? dont be daft, as far as we know, its all speculation whether or not he has been contacted by the owners, nothing has been quoted by the owners, or the man himself ALL we know about MON is through the grapevine
Guest Bilo Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Clark obviously has something, I remember how impressed I was by his Huddersfield team in League One but I'm not sure if he is the answer to our problems. They've had a bit of money to spend over the years, and bottled it badly against Posh in the play-offs last year.
Fox92 Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Dont wanna cause slander but dont think we will get MON his wifes really poorly apparently last thing on his mind would be managing us Again, or has she always been ill? If this is true then I cannot see it happening, I mean; that's why he left Celtic to care for her.
Narborough_fox Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 If he brings Jordan Rhodes with him I will love him. He WILL be big.
DanTheFox07 Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Clark would be so disappointing with Hughes available Why? up and coming manager with an amazing record! Hughes doesn`t exactly set the world on fire now does he, especially after Fulham saying they didn`t even want him there! say`s a lot if you ask me! If he brings Jordan Rhodes with him I will love him. He WILL be big. Yeah hopefully will put the money in place to make sure it`s a done deal for jan!!!
