BIEREDeLuxe Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 SSN just reported that we're approaching Crystal Palace to talk to Dougie Freedman????????????? WTF!!!!!!!! Win rate of 41% no different to what we had. Pooooooor Going from bad to worse, if true. The owners (and/or their advisers) are showing an alarming lack of nous here.
Joe. Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 How much experience did Paul Lambert have of the Championship. I mean I really do not know the answer. Was last season his first? I'm not denying he might be a good appointment - what I'm saying is we just don't know. It's a gamble, like Ric says, like the kind less ambitious sides take. I'd take Davies, Hughes or Jones myself, even if the first two are significantly dislikable men.
BMR Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 SSN just reported that we're approaching Crystal Palace to talk to Dougie Freedman????????????? WTF!!!!!!!! Win rate of 41% no different to what we had. Pooooooor Oh dear, oh dear, the owners seem naive at the very least!
gazfox9 Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Is this a joke?? Lee Clark? Well I'm sure all the Sven detractors will be over the moon with that. I'll naturally back whoever takes over (inc. Clark), but am genuinely amazed anyone may see this as a step forward. Giving a rookie X amount of £millions to spend could be a disaster (peter Taylor?). If appointed though, I'd love to be proved wrong.
gazfox9 Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Oh dear, oh dear, the owners seem naive at the very least! At least Tunchev would get a game!

gazfox9 Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Just checked it myself. Paul Lambert last year was just two years older than Lee Clarke is now. Last season was his first in the Championship as a manager. He is now a manager in the Premiership at the age of 42. So now someone tell me that a young manager with no experience of the Championship cannot get a team promoted into the Premiership! But how many goes did Lambert need to get Norwich out of league one? Think Lambert is a tremendous manager, certainly in the MON mould. You can't really compare him to Lee Clark as what they've achieved in league one are poles apart.
Kurrif Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 That's a really interesting point. If sacking Sven means that building, carefully, isn't an option, (which I think is how many of us interpret his departure), then presumably the new incumbent has to deliver .... and very quickly. Is that man Clark ? Personally, I just can't see that. If he's to be given an extra season, why wasn't Sven ? Just how bad were things behind the scenes ? Like many on here, I just don't see how the appointment can be anyone but a hard nose who will come in and hit the ground running. i think I might cry if that's Keane, but even so, surely that's a better short-term startegy than Clark ? If Clark is the better long-term startegy, then surely it should have been Sven !!! etc etc etc Absolutely right. They messed up by taking a punt on Mon and now its backfired. They are in danger of ending up with someone who is neither high profile ( as they are alleged to want) or can guarantee a quick route out. Clark possible long term fix but then so was Sven so that makes no sense. I would now go for someone who might bully their way out of this league such as Davies although it hurts to have to say it, but then we will have to drop me if we go up and start again probably I guess with a foreign big name to attract the Thai TV audience.
LukeyZade Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 i am annoyed that we are in a crap position again, i am very used to this so called circus as u call it. sick of people moaning hes not the man, he aint got this aint got that,. we dont get an opinion who we get or we dont if you love leicester city shut up, stop moaning give a manager a chance then judge his managerial skills. half of you was literally wanting to suk sven off, then u wanted him out. and now hes gone your moaning? come on fellas, let just all remain positive too much negativity on these boards
StarFox Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 May have got confued with the Lee Clark thing sorry all Thats ok. I only bloomin put my money on Lee Clark as I thought it was a certainty

dave the caveman Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Haven't read this thread, but why would you want a director of football? It's like admitting your manager is shit. I don't think the idea has ever even come close to making sense never mind actually working.
FreddieFox Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 My friend rang me this morning to tell me that Kevin Keegan is set to be announced as our new manager on Monday. I laughed him off. He has just rang me again to say that he is so confident that he has put £200 on him at 20-1, now at 16-1. He said that someone close to Muzzy Izzet has told him this on a night at the races!!! He has also said that KK is at the KP this evening having talks. If KK is at the KP i would guess that he could be having talks regarding him being Lee Clarke's Director of Football. Pure guess but this could make sense as i believe LC played under KK at Newcastle Utd. Either way i think its bye bye £200!

Sven would have been the best fo that role so i can believe we would go that route// i think KK could be a good shout for manager though. big name in his day, experience.. just what the owners want..
Kitchandro Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Keegan is tactically naive and thick as owt but at least he'd entertain us.
Babylon Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 As someone has said, back page of daily mail says KK director of football with Clark under him.
Guest Col city fan Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Keegan is tactically naive and thick as owt but at least he'd entertain us. Just as long as he brought his daughter with him.. I'd be happy enough
Happy Fox Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 liamlcfc Liam McNulty looks like a Geordie invasion Keegan & Clark #LCFC what next
Kitchandro Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 liamlcfc Liam McNulty looks like a Geordie invasion Keegan & Clark #LCFC what next ****ing hope not.
lcfcsnow Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 ****ing hope not. Seems the best case scenario after the names that were linked today.
Happy Fox Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 ****ing hope not. Why not Clark is left to manage the team, and Keegan a legend in Thailand would provide the necessary PR.
