Kitchandro Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Seems the best case scenario after the names that were linked today. I'd rather have Davies than Clark, and I don't believe in DOFs.
Finchy Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 A Geordie's wet dream. Not really sure what to think about it, Keegan could really help Clark's development but how often does having a DOF work.
teblin Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Dof do work in some cases. Reading have one, Barcelona have one. Difference in those cases is that they have an affiliation to the club

(apart from Clark saying he wasn't interested in the job ) Great stuff.
Happy Fox Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 The more I think about the more it seems like a good move, Sven would not have contemplated being a DOF imo, so to get a combination of Keegan and Clark, experience with young what more could you want.
Wortho Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Out of all the people mentioned to get these two would be a good option.
Kitchandro Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 They both seem to have a history of falling at the final hurdle. Like Sven Keegan hasn't done anything for a decade and Clark hasn't done anything full stop.
lcfcsnow Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Clark hasn't done anything full stop. Neither had Paul Lambert before he guided Norwich to successive promotions. Clarks worth a gamble if Keegan is part of it.
Happy Fox Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Neither had Paul Lambert before he guided Norwich to successive promotions. Clarks worth a gamble if Keegan is part of it. Spot on
Tielemans63 Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 I love that people are commenting on this as if it's a possibility! The whole Clark / Keegan partnership has been conceived entirely in this thread and people are talking as if it might happen
Kitchandro Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Neither had Paul Lambert before he guided Norwich to successive promotions. Clarks worth a gamble if Keegan is part of it. How is that evidence that a similar thing would happen here though? It could be argued he's not done as well as he should have done with his resources.
dylanlegend Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Can someone please tell me what is so good about Lee Clark? Failed to get Huddersfield promoted in 3 years on the biggest budget in league one - completely the opposite of what we want!! Disaster if we got Clark - it has to be either Hughes, Keane, Davies or Di Matteo managers who have done it before!!
cc_star Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Forget about Lee Clark - he's had massive financial backing at Huddersfield but still they can't get promoted - just watch Charlton and Sheff Wednesday edge us out this season. Much of the football in the unbeaten run has been dire and it has of course included defeats in the Play off final (3-0 to Posh) and the JPT Semi final (4-0 to bloody Carlisle). When the pressure has really been on Clark's team have not come up with the goods. This is all coming to the fore, people are blinded by the headline figure of the unbeaten run. MoN > Hughes > Davies > Anyone else > Dogshit > McLaren
Stocker Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2054879/Leicester-target-Kevin-Keegan-Lee-Clark-replace-Sven-Goran-Eriksson.html?ito=feeds-newsxml the only thing th mail ever get correct is the date everything else is bull
Karljohn Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Does anyone really know the truth behind the Pearson departure, because there was a story suggesting that the Thai's told Mandaric to get rid and bring in Sousa which of course prompted NP resignation. Just find it a little odd that a relatively unknown League 1 manager should find himself in the frame given what may have happened 18 months ago. If they didnt rate Pearson for missing out in the play offs, how do they rate Lee Clark?
ARM1968 Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 They don't. It'll be a NAME either way, for good or bad. Keegan, Hoddle etc. what's George Graham doing these days?
seenitall Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Interesting that people were saying yesterday that Top wouldn't have started talks behind Sven's back because he was an honourable and decent bloke - he doesn't seem to have been that honourable last year if this is true!!
Nick Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 We may as well have Iain Dowie with the Birch as Director of football and just have done with it - at least we'll all laugh.
buzzy Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 How is that evidence that a similar thing would happen here though? It could be argued he's not done as well as he should have done with his resources. nor had sven with the resourses so clark for me

filbertboy Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Sven would have been a great Director Of Football here. Peterborough United-Barry Fry Barry Fry is Peterborough United !! He writes the programmes, sells the pies and locks the gates when the fans go home !
Happy Fox Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 djwanker Geoff Peters With O'Neill not wanting the #lcfc job, the owners will turn to Lee Clark with Keegan as director of Football. From a very good source.

From a very good source. I just guessed / thought the same thing (posted on the 'Keegan' thread). My only additional comment, was that talk today of approaching Karl Robinson, might be happening as a 'fall-back' option, if Clark / Huddersfield decide against it.

Yeah I think you may be right, but Keegan will still be DOF regardless of whether it will be Clark or Robinson as manager.
