bald reynard Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Sven would have been a great Director Of Football here. Yeah, but Sven might not have wanted that role - that could be why they got rid !
cc_star Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 A done deal according to people quoting SSN Not a fan of the DoF if that happens though
Tielemans63 Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Paying someone for doing feck all. Great move. Okay, I'm going to try and be positive. KK coming in will offset the lack of experience that Lee Clark brings. He should have numerous contacts in the game that will be of use to LC. I'm hoping for a good cop / bad cop routine with LC bringing some much needed discipline. I tried.
Kitchandro Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Why get 2 managers to make up for each others faults, instead of bringing in one who has less faults and can do it on his own? As somebody said the other day, getting a director of football in is basically admitting your manager isn't good enough.
dannythefox Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 A done deal according to people quoting SSN Not a fan of the DoF if that happens though Because it a fvcking joke that's whys were a laughing stock of the football leagues!
Callabinho Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Terrible Idea, Keegan will need two parking spaces, one for him the other for his ego. And Clarke has no experience at this level, there is only one man who can get our season back on track...Billy ****ing Davies.
ajthefox Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 I'm gonna be absolutely gutted if all this shabazz is true. Keegan is a bellend and I don't want him anywhere near us, especially if it's in a director of football role, whatever the feck that is. cvnt.

I never thought I'd want that little shit managing us but he's the best option out there (apart from Di Matteo or O'Neill which were never going to happen). Really shit appointment. We can't afford to gamble on a bloke who hasn't achieved anything in his 3 year management career.

Tielemans63 Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 What does i director of football do? Sits in an office doing nothing drinking tea while every now and again taking the time to undermine the manager before said manager gets sacked - then the DOR steps in as manager for 2 months, is even worse than the guy who was manager then ends up being sacked with a £500k payoff. That's the job description anyway. * Forgot to mention that in terms of a credentials a good DOR will have achieved absolutely nothing in the last 10 years and their ideas will generally be 20 years behind everyone elses.
Libertine Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Very disappointing. Can't help but feel that.
thurnbyfox Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Would this be my first choice? No Do I know what a Director of Football does? No Time will tell if this will prove to be the right appointment (if rumours are true) but one thing is for sure I will support them until the end.

Burmesefox Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Does anyone really know the truth behind the Pearson departure, because there was a story suggesting that the Thai's told Mandaric to get rid and bring in Sousa which of course prompted NP resignation. Just find it a little odd that a relatively unknown League 1 manager should find himself in the frame given what may have happened 18 months ago. If they didnt rate Pearson for missing out in the play offs, how do they rate Lee Clark? Pearson was effectively out the door before the playoff results - Sousa was a guest of General Mandy and sitting in the posh seats for the play off matches. Nige was aware of this and knew he was a goner. NP was going wether we won or lost.

Number 6 Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Lee Clark interview after todays match. Interesting.. http://www.4shared.com/audio/XvxvV76U/FYUFYUFY.html? Sounds like he wants the move.

Number 6 Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Can't download as I'm on my phone - what's he got to say? Very cagey. Says no contact but certainly doesn't rule himself out.
Salieri Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Very disappointing. Can't help but feel that. A 41 match unbeaten run is impressive at any level, particularly for a rookie manager so he obviously has something about him. However, he has zero experience of managing at this level and of having such resources available to him. It would be a gamble without a doubt, I still think Billy Davies would be (maybe a less 'exciting', but) a far safer bet. As for Keegans involvement, I just don't know what to make of that.

EnderbyFox Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Underwhelmed, not liking the idea of having a DOF at all. The only option apart from MON was always Billy Davies for me.
Petchy Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Wouldn't be happy with this at all. Not done anything special at Huddersfield and now he's getting a chance here?! Crazy game.
Jay Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Can't download as I'm on my phone - what's he got to say? hasn't heard anything, wants to be seen as professional and doesn't want to show his mind is elsewhere, the club has treated him well and IF anything was true he would tell the chairman and let him know, but can't really comment. IF city was to come in for him the first thing he would do is speak to the chairman IMMEDIATLEY and talk about the future.
